With Season 4 of Game Of Thrones wrapped, the clock is ticking for George R.R. Martin to hurry and finish book six from his Song Of Ice And Fire series, The Winds Of Winter. In a new interview, he reveals that we can expect “more death” for book six — we know, big surprise — among a few other spoilers. Read on for more, but keep in mind that SPOILERS are below — not just for fans of the TV series but for fans of the novels, as well! We’ve warned you.
‘Game Of Thrones': Book Six Spoilers From George R.R. Martin
“I think we’re gonna start out with a big smash with the two enormous battles,” George told Entertainment Weekly.
We can assume that the battle will be between Ramsay Bolton’s army and Stannis Baratheon’s; in A Dance With Dragons, Jon Snow receives a missive from Ramsay which claims that he has Mance Rayder, has defeated Stannis’ army and is now in possession of his sword, Lightbringer. However, it is unknown whether the letter actually came from Ramsay or whether any of its contents are actually correct.
That said, George further revealed to the outlet that “We have more deaths, and we have more betrayals. We have more marriages.” More death? George, you don’t say.
The Dothraki are also returning “in a big way,” and “a lot of stuff is happening at The Wall.” Yay… more stuff at The Wall…
George R.R. Martin: Tyrion And Daenerys Will Interact In Book Six
Furthermore, diehards will be excited by the fact that Tyrion and Daenerys will finally, properly interact in The Winds Of Winter, though “for much of the book they’re still apart,” George says. “They both have quite large roles to play here. Tyrion has decided that he actually would like to live, for one thing, which he wasn’t entirely sure of during [A Dance With Dragons], and he’s now working toward that end — if he can survive the battle that’s breaking out all around him.
“And Dany has embraced her heritage as a Targaryen and embraced the Targaryen words. So they’re both coming home.”
Oh, and the Targaryen words? “Fire and blood.” Look out, Westeros! Daenerys’ will be one hell of a homecoming.
So, HollywoodLifers, what do you think of these latest spoilers? Do you think that The Winds Of Winter will be completed before the Game Of Thrones series catches up? Let us know!
