The 2014 FIFA World Cup game between United States and Germany is on June 26, and Will Ferrell is the U.S.’s biggest supporter — after all, according to him, he’ll be playing in the game!
U-S-A! U-S-A! The United States vs. Germany FIFA World Cup game on June 26 is not the U.S.’s last chance to get into the round of 16, but it’s still an incredibly important game for U.S. supporters — including Will Ferrell. The Anchorman actor stopped by a pep rally on June 25 in Recife, Brazil to support the USMNT in a USA jersey, and even claimed that he’d be playing! Watch the hilarious video and tell us who you’ll be rooting for!
Will Ferrell: World Cup USMNT’s ‘Secret Weapon’ — He Will ‘Bite Every German Player’ If He Has To
Before Will hit the stage at the pep rally, a Teddy Roosevelt impersonator named Teddy Goalsevelt pumped up the crowd, leading them to chant, “I believe that we will win!” Then, Will was introduced as the USMNT’s secret weapon, who told a crowd that erupted into cheers, “I’m so honored to be playing tomorrow.
“I’m not gonna lie to you,” he confessed. “I’m not in the best shape, OK? I’m not in soccer shape right now. But I’m gonna try my best.”
Will Ferrell: ‘If The Game Gets Close, I Will Bite’
And if Will’s best isn’t good enough? “If the game gets close, I will bite — I will bite the opponent! I will bite every German player if I have to!” Easy, Luis Suarez. That kind of thing will get you banned.
“I will see you at the stadium,” he told the crowd. “Look for the guy sitting next to Teddy Goalsevelt in a red, white, and blue bikini top.” Hilarious. And horrifying.
So, HollywoodLifers, who are you rooting for? U.S. or Germany? Which team do you hope will take home the top prize? Let us know!
