Emily Osment and Jonathan Sadowski star in ABC Family’s new summer comedy, ‘Young & Hungry’. HollywoodLife.com spoke EXCLUSIVELY to the stars who told us all about the show, which is produced by Ashley Tisdale, and their on-screen love triangle!
Young & Hungry follows a food blogger, Gabi (Emily Osment) who lands the job of a lifetime, becoming the personal chef for a young, successful tech entrepreneur, Josh (Jonathan Sadowski). The odd couple heats up in more than business — they also sizzle in the romance department!
Emily Osment & Jonathan Sadowski Tease On-Screen Romance
Young & Hungry is ABC Family’s latest hit to join the ranks of their hilarious and super successful shows. But this one is a bit different — it’s much sexier!
“It’s a little racy,” Jonathan revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “There are definitely some jokes that will make your jaw drop.”
That’s not all that drops, though. Clothes are coming off, too! In the very first episode, Josh and Gabi wind up in bed together!
“I actually get to play my actual age, which never happens,” says Emily (who starred in Hannah Montana) of her “sexy part,” adding, “It was such a risky choice for the lead characters to sleep with each other in the pilot, but it sets it up for a crazy and intense and awkward love story.”
‘Young & Hungry’ Love Triangle
Another woman interferes with Josh and Gabi’s hot hookup (as if their employee boss relationship wasn’t bad enough) — Josh’s girlfriend! Okay, okay, so she breaks up with him. But then she comes running back! And, well, he’s still craving some Gabi in his life.
“When someone gets broken up, they need someone to be there for them. And Gabi would happen to be there for Josh,” Jonathan explains. “My girlfriend at the time, or ex girlfriend, she comes back to me, and it creates this wonderful little love triangle.”
Emily agrees, telling HollywoodLife.com: “It’s the most hilarious love triangle ever!”
We’ll have to wait and see who Josh chooses, but he did admit that he’s smitten with Gabi. “[His girlfriend] is everything he wanted in a girl and then out of nowhere comes this clumsy, kind of hanging by a thread blogger and completely blows him away.”
You know what they say — opposites attract!
Young & Hungry premieres on Wednesday, June 25 (8/7c) on ABC Family.
