Tori Spelling & Jennie Garth Reunite In New Comedy ‘Mystery Girls’
Tori and Jennie are back and better than ever!
In the best friends’ brand new comedy Mystery Girls, Tori plays Holly Hamilton and Jennie takes on Charlie Contour. Both characters are former TV detective actresses that are brought back together by a real-life mystery to solve real-life cases. Yes, the Beverly Hills ladies are playing detectives, but trust us, they pull it off!
Jennie spoke EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife at an advanced screening of Mystery Girls on June 24 in New York City by Mamarazzi, and told us all about working with her best friend, Tori: “Great, so fun! Easy! It’s just so natural!”
So is Mystery Girls the new summer show to watch? Tori thinks so!
“There is really nothing else like it,” Tori told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I don’t think you can re-invent the female comedy and we are doing it a new way and owning it! It’s really fun, and campy and grounded emotionally. It’s definitely visually pleasing!” Jennie added, “It’s just an escape…and its pretty hot!”
‘Mystery Girls’: Tori & Jennie Fight Crime In Premiere
In the pilot episode, airing Wednesday June 25, both girls are living separate lives and are brought together by a witness of a death, Nick (Miguel Pinzon), on the streets of Los Angeles. One problem: Nick will confess what he saw to the show, Mystery Girls! The girls then decide to open their own office and solve real-life crimes on the daily.
The famous duo, of course, started off in 90210 together, and have been best friends ever since. Jennie even appeared in Tori’s dramatic docuseries True Tori.
Have they stayed friends with the rest of their 90210 cast? Yep! “Luke [Perry] actually texted me yesterday, ‘Saw your poster, you look good,’” Jennie told us, at the screening.
