Could Justin Ross Harris, 33, be freed with the help of online supporters? Hopefully not. Despite tens of thousands of people calling for Justin’s murder charges to be dropped, Cobb County Police Department has revealed disturbing new details about the death of Justin’s 22-month-old son which lead them to believe this was not just a tragic accident.
Justin Ross Harris’ 11k Supporters Hope To Drop Murder Charge
Over 11,000 have put their support behind Justin Ross Harris after his son died in the sweltering heat from being left in the car for over seven hours.
As of June 25, 11,274 individuals have signed the petition which was started by an account named Parents Supporting Parents. The petition claims it needs 11,500 signatures to succeed, but seems to be at a standstill. However, comments are still being written by supporters claiming there is no way Justin could have intentionally harmed his own child.
“Ross is a great father and person. This was an accident and should not be a legal issue by a politician trying to get his name out there,” Rebecca Stallings wrote from Hoover, Alabama on June 25.
In response to the outrage from parents all over the country, the Cobb County PD released a statement on June 23 that revealed there were suspicious circumstances surrounding the toddler’s death which prompted the so-called harsh charges against Justin.
“Much has changed about the circumstances leading up to the death of this 22-month-old since it was first reported. I’ve been in law enforcement for 34 years. What I know about this case shocks my conscience as a police officer, a father and a grandfather,” Police Sgt.Dana Pierce told CNN on June 23.
On June 25 it was revealed that Justin may have left his son in the car intentionally, with police sharing that they believe he opened the driver’s side door of his car several hours before “discovering” his son’s dead body in the backseat.
HollywoodLife.com has reached out to Change.org in regards to whether or not the petition will be pulled due to the new information released by police.
