Can’t we all just get along? Campaigns to impeach President Obama have been going on for years, and now Republican House Speaker John Boehner is planning to sue Obama over his alleged abuse of executive actions.
President Barak Obama has been forced to use his executive action several times over the course of his time in the White House when Congress and The House couldn’t come to terms in order to make progress with his policies. Now Republicans like John Boehner are speaking out and are actually planning to file a lawsuit under the claim that executive orders are actually a violation of the constitution.
Speaker John Boehner Plans To Sue President Barak Obama
Republicans argue that President Obama has been disregarding the constitution by skipping over the legislative process in order to make executive decisions. Obama has used his executive authority on several controversial issues including minimum wage, immigration and the rights of same-sex couples.
In a news conference on Capitol Hill on June 25, Boehner stated, “You know the constitution makes it clear that the president’s job is to faithfully execute the laws and in my view the President has not faithfully executed the laws.”
But there’s a different viewpoint on the other side of aisle. Democrats like House Leader Nancy Pelosi, claim that Boehner has ulterior motives and Republicans in Congress are purposely “doing nothing” and “have to give some aura of activity.”
Boehner however, told CNN, “This is about defending the institution in which we serve. If you look back over the past 235 years of our history there’s been movement between the inherent powers of the executive branch vs the inherent powers of the legislative branch and what we’ve seen clearly over the past 5 years is an effort to erode the power of the legislative branch.”
Republicans Plan To Sue Obama For Side-Stepping Legislative Laws
In spite of all the tension between the President and Boehner, the mood didn’t seem tense as they joined together at the White House to meet with members of the 2013 U.S. and International Presidents Cup teams:

Though they don’t agree politically, Obama joked, “I’m joined by two of my favorite golf partners, the Vice President of the United States Joe Biden and Speaker of the House John Boehner.” He also added that golf is “the only thing that [Boehner] doesn’t criticize me about.”
Conservative Republicans have long felt that President Obama was overstepping his power, now we’ll just have to wait and see if this lawsuit — which does seem to have a tinge of vindictiveness — gets off the ground.
What are your thoughts, HollywoodLifers? Is President Obama violating the constitution? Or is he simply trying to do his job?
