The liars head back to Rosewood High, but school isn’t all that’s in session. Mrs. DiLaurentis’ funeral is also a hotspot in town. And there’s a new lead on ‘A’ — keep reading to find out who it is!
Pretty Little Liars welcomed a new girl into Emily’s (Shay Mitchell) life, plus there’s a new suspect into the “A” lineup. And don’t fear, liars — Ezra (Ian Harding) is back! But is he back on with Aria (Lucy Hale)?
Goodbye, Mrs. DiLaurentis
Nothing like a funeral to bring friends together! It’s time to say farewell to the ground-ridden Mrs. DiLaurentis, and the liars still somehow think that the “A” is actually gone. But they’re onto Jason (Drew Van Acker). And Mona (Janel Parrish).
Note: Ali (Sasha Pieterse) dressed up for her mom’s big day — in the same black dress that Mrs. D. wore to her own funeral. (What? You didn’t pretend to die, come back to life and throw on an LBD?)
‘Blood Is Thicker Than Water…It Can Also Be Very Slippery’
Moving from one screwed up family to the next, the Hastings sisters get after it, this time over Jason. Yes, yes, we know he’s in the family, too — and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) harshly reminds her creepy father that she hasn’t forgotten about her half-sibling.
Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) thinks that Jason killed his mother, or at least that’s what she tells Spencer, and she firmly demands that she stay away from the DiLaurentis fam — Alison included. Surprise, surprise, Spencer doesn’t listen. And good thing she didn’t because she now knows that Jason didn’t kill his mom, but their father may have done the deed! “You can’t trust him,” Jason tells his little half-sis.
By episode’s end, Spencer’s dad freaks the living daylights out of Ali, offering her a ride home, and Spencer confronts her dad, once he’s home from his god-knows-what sketchy business: “Where have you been, at this hour, young man?”
Thought: Has anyone else noticed that Spencer is nosy, as can be, 24/7, except when Melissa and her dad say “don’t tell her” IN FRONT OF HER FACE?
Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily head down to the warehouse to find out what Jason’s been up to, and decide that he’s in the clear, and they mention an army occupying the space. Hmm…Mona’s army?
Speaking of Mona, Hanna keeps having flashbacks of her bestie-ing — or crushing? — it up with Mona, during their “glamour bootcamp” (or as Mona calls it, the “Ali upgrade”) back in the day.
Ezra Lives On — In Rosewood
Thank the ghosts of Rosewood — Ezra made it back, all in one piece! And he has his wits about him, revealing to Aria that he knows all about Ali’s big lie — she visits scruffy Ezra in his apartment, too — but he insists he’ll keep their NYC extravaganza a secret. Yep, we’ve heard that before.
Aria is still reeling over the fact that she’s a cold-blooded killer (fair), and she finally reveals her crime to Ezra. Regardless, he offered to “help” — uhh, what does that mean? Whatever, we like it.
Mr. Fitz and Aria share an awkward, but sweet, moment. There are clearly more-than-lingering feelings there. Come on, Ezria! Just kiss already!
There’s ‘A’ New Girl In Town
The girls head back to Rosewood High, but they’re not the only unfamiliar faces walking down the halls.
Sydney (Chloe Bridges) is the new kid in school and she just so happens to be on the swim team with Emily and Paige (Lindsey Shaw). Holy love triangle alert! You could cut that locker room tension with a bloody knife.
Post swim meet, Paige shows up at Emily’s house and tries to rekindle the romance to no luck. “You deserve the best of everything,” Emily tells her. Lovelorn Paige’s response? “That’s what I had.” Ugh. Dagger in our hearts!
HollywoodLifers, is Spencer’s dad really “A” and what is he hiding with Melissa? Who was the girl watching over Hanna’s hair appointment with Mona — Alison? And should Ezra and Aria get back together? What about Paige and Emily? Let us know, liars!
