‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ hits U.S. theaters on August 1 and the newest trailer has been released to tide you over for the seemingly endless wait! Click to watch!

Guardians Of The Galaxy is very nearly upon us. In the new trailer, which is more action and less comic relief than we’ve seen from Marvel Studios’ newest venture so far, audiences unfamiliar with the comic book series get a better idea of what to expect from a movie about “a thief, two thugs, a murderer, and a maniac” in their mission to save the world. “I was only a kid when I left earth, and I had no idea what the universe had in store for me,” Star-Lord, aka Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) intones at the top of the trailer. What follows is a series of action sequences which tell the story of the “unstoppable threat” which faces the galaxy — and how Star-Lord and his team are the galaxy’s last chance. It’s not altogether clear why that’s the case, but hey, I guess that’s why we need to watch!

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Trailer 2 Puts The Focus On Action Over Comedy

While previous promotional material for the film focused more on the comedy aspect which is so prevalent in Marvel films — and which may be especially so in a film with a talking racoon and a perfectly ordinary human who calls himself “Star-Lord” — the new trailer sets that aside in favor of the action which is likely to be the larger draw for comic book fans.

However, the new trailer is not totally without comic relief — this motley, intergalactic crew don’t seem like they’ll be getting their sh** together any time soon, considering that Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper) laughs in Star-Lord’s face when he announces he has a plan. Well, “part… of a plan.”

So, HollywoodLifers, will you be checking out Guardians Of The Galaxy this summer? Do you like the new trailer? Let us know!

Absolutely. This crazy, silly, action-packed concoction looks right up my alley. I’m excited to see this studio throw stuff at the wall from their deep bench of obscure characters to see what sticks. The fact that Disney is backing them financially sure doesn’t hurt to get the word out. I’ll be there ready to rock on opening weekend.
