Well then, this is confusing. After squashing his feud with Chris, Drake seemed to reignite it by dating Rihanna again this spring. But if the video Chris uploaded on June 17 is any indication, he wasn’t bothered by that at all! Watch below and see what we mean.
It used to be VERY bad if we were mentioning Chris Brown and Drake in the same sentence, but lately, even after Drizzy briefly dated Chris’ ex Rihanna for the second time, it seems like the two musicians actually like each other. The latest apparent nod of respect came on June 17, as Breezy uploaded a video of himself rapping over Drake’s song, “0-100.”
Chris Brown Shows Drake Love On Instagram?
Chris posted on Instagram that he was “Bored freestyling” along with the short black and white clip. In it, he mumbles a few bars which are pretty hard to make out, but we were able to catch references to several of Chris’ vices: sex, guns, and the country jail. Watch the video here:
It’d be a pretty drama-free video, except for the fact that Chris’ freestyle is over a Drake song. These two were archenemies for years — the last time Chris rapped over a Drake song, he yelled “F**k Drake!” — and though they did make up in Sept. 2013, we suspected the wound was reopened when Drake made a move on RiRi while Chris was in jail and rehab. Furthermore, HollywoodLife.com told you exclusively that the two stars avoided each other completely when they both attended Maxim‘s Hot 100 party on June 10.
But Chris’ Instagram post seems to suggest that there’s at least a baseline level of respect now between himself and Drizzy. It also may suggest that Chris is prepping to release an official remix of Drake’s “0-100,” so stay tuned.
Drake Raps To Chris Brown’s Song
And the respect actually goes both ways — Drake threw Chris some love at Summer Jam on June 2 when he covered Chris’ song “Loyal” with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
These are small gestures obviously, but considering Drake and Chris were throwing glass bottles at each other less than two years ago, they’re also pretty momentous ones.
