The first episode of Chasing Life was an emotional roller coaster we never wanted to end — especially once we saw the shocking last-minute twist! We can’t wait to follow the inspirational main character, April Carver (Italia Ricci), as she navigates through her 20’s, after she’s diagnosed with cancer. In the second episode, airing on June 17, April gets more information about her illness and it’s a hard pill to swallow. Keep reading to find out what else happens tonight!
‘Chasing Life’: April Is Hit With Devastating Details
In the sneak peak for the second episode of Chasing Life, April appears to be spaced out, as her estranged uncle and oncologist, Dr. George Carver (Steven Weber), explains what she needs to treat her Leukemia. Understandably, April is quiet, while George is talking, although, she does appear to be more attentive when he explains that she isn’t able to receive chemo after work and she has to be admitted into the hospital.
The 24-year-old journalist is completely struck by this news. How will she continue to advance at the paper? What about her blossoming office romance?!
April learns that she will have to receive chemo for several days, undergo transfusions and be under observation in case there are side effects to the treatment. Thankfully, April is one of the most inspiring TV characters we’ve ever seen and we know she’ll tackle her battle with cancer like the strong woman she is.
‘Do I Really Need To Start This Now?’
April isn’t exactly accepting of the fact that she has Leukemia — and we can’t blame her.
“Do I really need to start this entire process right now?” April asks, completely shocked and utterly confused. “I mean, I feel fine. I didn’t even know I was sick three days ago.”
Watch the sneak peak clip above and tune into the full episode of Chasing Life on June 17 (9/8c) on ABC Family.
