Mon, June 16, 2014 6:11pm EDT by Add first Comment

Landon Donovan may have been cut from the U.S. national team roster and from the World Cup in Brazil, but that doesn’t mean that he’s resting idly by! EA Sports has released a new commercial starring everyone’s favorite Los Angeles Galaxy player to promote ‘2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil’ — click to watch!

Controversy erupted when it was revealed that Landon Donovan — easily one of the U.S.’s best players — was cut from the U.S. national team roster ahead of the World Cup in Brazil. However, Landon’s not letting that get him down! Click to watch the video and to find out how Landon’s keeping himself busy these days.

Landon Donovan In World Cup? Playing FIFA At Home

Landon stars in a new commercial for EA for 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, which was released April 15. He may not be playing for real, but he’s definitely playing at home. In a fluffy white bathrobe. It doesn’t seem like too hard a life, quite honestly.

The Los Angeles Galaxy player found out he was “Cute Without The ‘E’ (Cut From The Team)” on May 22, and it didn’t take him too long to find a gig.

‘2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil’ Could Use The Good PR — Has Received Criticism

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil could use the good PR — EA has received criticism for the game due to its limited playability. Available only on PS3 and Xbox 360 and not, strangely, the newer consoles PS4, Xbox One, nor PC. However, there are no plans to release the game for the newer consoles, the reason being that “the prohibitively low next-gen adoption rates” in certain markets make it not a financially viable option.

Brazil, in particular, has a very low adoption rate, and considering that they’re hosting the World Cup, the majority rules!

So, HollywoodLifers, are you glad to see that Landon is kicking back with FIFA in his own living room, or do you wish he was on the field? Let us know!
