We can always count on singer Lana Del Rey to say outlandish and crazy things. We adore the quirky singer for being unashamedly outspoken, but her latest statements have us very, very worried. Lana said “I wish I was dead already” in a new interview, according to reports.
Oh dear — consider us officially worried. Lana Del Rey, 27, is no stranger to shocking people. I mean, the “West Coast” singer DID go topless and stripped sexily while dressed as the Biblical Eve in a short film she released called Tropico. We love Lana’s confidence and never-boring behavior, but a brand-new interview with the young ‘West Coast’ singer disturbs us big time.
Lana Del Rey’s Shocking New Interview: The Singer Admits ‘I Wish I Was Dead’
Lana — we really hope you were joking when you said all of this. “I wish I was dead already,” the singer opened up to The Guardian on June 12. “I don’t want to have to keep doing this,” Lana told the UK paper. “But I am.” The Guardian reporter interviewing Lana of course asked the singer to explain exactly what she meant by saying she wished she were dead.
“Everything,” Lana said about what she wished she didn’t have to keep doing. “That’s just how I feel. If it wasn’t that way, then I wouldn’t say it. I would be scared if I knew [death] was coming, but…”
That’s where Lana ended her talk about death in the interview. A big reason this has us concerned? Lana has a lot of young fans who watch her every move. They look up to and idolize the singer. It would be heartbreaking if any of them listened to this interview with Lana, took her words the wrong way and acted on wishing they were dead.
Happier Lana Del Rey: A Surprise Performer At Kimye’s Wedding Bash!
Before Lana’s scary death confession, she played a surprise role at Kim Kardashian‘s wedding rehearsal dinner on May 23. Lana is Kim’s fave singer, so Kanye West surprised his bride by having Lana perform. It was a super-fun night — and Lana even posed with Kim and her sisters at the dinner! Lana reportedly played three songs for the crowd.
