Even though he’s battled various illnesses including a form a Parkinson’s disease and severe bronchitis (which kept him in the hospital for about seven weeks), the former Commander in Chief made the most of his 90th birthday by making a tandem jump this morning with Mike Elliott, a retired member of the Army’s parachute team The Golden Knights, according to The Boston Globe

The former President tweeted about his wild jump early this morning! ‘‘It’s a wonderful day in Maine — in fact, nice enough for a parachute jump,’’ George H.W. tweeted to his 118,000 followers.

The former POTUS will also have a more mellow celebration for his birthday, according to CNN. He’ll have a birthday dinner with about 200 family and friends and a performance by Ronan Tynan, an Irish tenor, to honor another year.
