After the shocking death of Eric Hill, ‘The Bachelorette’ Andi Dorfman sent a letter to his family, Eric’s sister revealed in a new interview. So sweet.
Eric Hill‘s departure from The Bachelorette was not exactly a smooth one, but that doesn’t mean that Andi Dorfman didn’t realize just how incredible of a person he was. When she heard about the tragic paragliding accident that took his life on April 23, she took the time to reach out to his sister, Karen Tracy.
Andi Dorfman’s Letter To Eric Hill’s Family
“Andi sent us a very thoughtful letter, all about her memories of Eric and their first date together,” his sister told Life & Style. She added (to In Touch) that many of the contestants and producers of the show came to Utah of for the funeral. “Eric said he enjoyed getting to know some really fun, amazing people… and he really felt bad that he made Andi cry.”
In case you missed it, Eric and Andi had a disagreement on the June 2 episode when he said she was acting like an “actress” rather than a person he wanted to date. So they both decided it was time for him to go home after she started crying. She even went off on the rest of the guys, telling them if they wanted to leave, to leave.
Andi’s Family Reacts To Eric’s Exit On ‘Bachelorette’
However, there was no bad blood of course.
“I think ABC handled the situation the best way they could, and I’m fine with it,” Karen told L&S. After the elimination, Chris Harrison and Andi remembered Eric with a short tribute, and it was clear she was really choked up by it.
“It’s devastating to even talk about it,” Andi said. “This season’s dedicated to him — we all remember him. It changed me in so many ways. To lose someone puts everything in perspective. It’s tough, saying we lost a family member.”
HollywoodLifers, are you surprised that Andi wrote a letter to his family? Was it the right thing to do? Let us know!
