‘The Little Couple’ Recap: Bill Plans A Romantic Surprise For Jen’s Birthday

Tue, June 10, 2014 10:30pm EDT by 6 Comments

On the June 10 episode of ‘The Little Couple,’ the mother of two is about to get the most romantic birthday surprise ever from her husband, Bill Klein.

This year has been full of ups and downs for Dr.Jennifer Arnold. Now it is time for a relaxing weekend away at the beach with her two amazing children, Will, 4, and Zoey, 2. Meanwhile, Bill has a incredibly romantic gesture up his sleeve. Read below for all the details!

‘The Little Couple': Jen Turns 40 Years Old

In honor of Jen’s big 40th birthday, Bill has decided to take the family on a weekend getaway to Galvenston, Texas where they can all spend time together at Jen’s favorite place: the beach!

What Jen doesn’t know is that over 50 of her and Bill’s friends and family are on their way to witness the couple renew their vows in a surprise ceremony.

While Jen has been busy getting back into her normal routine at work, Bill has been sneakily planning her sweet surprise, with the help of their adorable children, Will and Zoey, of course.

To make sure that Jen had the perfect dress to wear for their special surprise occasion, Bill and Zoey headed over to Project Runway season 2 winner Chloe Dao‘s store to create a dress from scratch. Bill wants Jen’s dress to be the perfect mixture between formal and casual while remaining comfortable so Jen can dance the night away — and of course it needs to have some Tiffany blue in it, because that’s Jen’s favorite color.

Bill Shares His Top Secret Plans With Zoey

Bill and Zoey were able to spend plenty of time together shopping for Jen and then heading out to lunch, where Bill trusted Zoey to keep his plans a secret from Jen.

Bill said,  “Behind the scenes what’s going to be happening is, all of our family is going arrive into town mostly on Saturday. We’re going to stay at the Galvez and we are going to have everyone else stay at another hotel in town called the Treemont. The goal here is to not have anyone coincidentally bump into each other in Galveston.”

Jen and Bill both headed to the hospital for Jen’s monthly checkup to make sure that there were no signs of cancer. Once Jen’s blood work came back with a glowing bill of health she was back to work, and so was Bill — or so Jen thought.

Bill then rushed to Galveston to meet with the event planners to go over the feel of what Bill wanted and to decide just how they were going to pull off this amazing surprise.

The Little Couple Have Some Fun At The Beach

Before revealing his plan to Jen, Bill thought it would be funny to give Jen, who is 7 months older some gag gifts to poke fun at her milestone birthday. His first gift to Jen is a donut pillow, which relieves tension on your lower half, followed by a boa since he is now calling Jen a cougar for liking younger men.

Finally the family headed to the beach where they had some snacks, built sandcastles and attempted to fly a kite — which was a flop.

Then they headed to a seafood restaurant where Jen’s parents were waiting to celebrate with their family. Jen even decided to top off the event by wearing a mommy and me matching sailor themed outfit with Zoey  — so cute!

Everyone had a great time eating lobster and celebrating with individual cakes complete with trick candles. Then Jen’s parents offered to watch Zoey and Will which Jen and Bill went back to the hotel to have a drink together. Everything was so planned out, Bill did such a great job of making sure that the whole night flowed smoothly and most importantly, that Jen didn’t catch on that she was in store for a huge surprise.

Bill’s Romantic Surprise Finally Comes Together

Bill led Jen to a outdoor space that was perfectly set up and extremely romantic complete with plenty of candles, rose petals and a bottle of champagne.

Jen said, “It definitely melted my heart to see what he had done. Flower petals arranged gorgeously in the shape of a heart and candles everywhere, this is my romantic husband.”

Jen still had no idea what was happening, but had a hint when Bill suddenly was nervously searching around in his wallet for something, before getting down on one knee and pulling out a diamond ring.

Bill said, “It’s been 7 years and 4 months about, I just want to let you know that after all that we’ve been through, that I love you more now than I did before, and I didn’t think that was possible, and that I’m in for the long haul if you are. Let’s just let everyone know that it’s just as good as it was day 1. I was wondering if you would do me the honor of marrying me again.”

Of course Jen was shocked — and then she said yes! Phew. It would have been totally award if she said no.

Although Jen knows that they are renewing their vows, she has no idea of all the hard work and planning that Bill has done to make this event as flawless as their actual wedding.

Bill said, “Jen thinks that we are going to be renewing our vows tomorrow, but she doesn’t know where it’s going to be held, that there’s 50 people flying and driving in from all over the country to celebrate with us, or that we are going to have a big celebration at the Galvez later that evening.”

Before Jen and Bill can completely celebrate, the episode ends with Jen being paged from the hospital.

Hopefully everything will be okay and that Jen can stay and renew her vows with Bill. We can’t wait to see what next week’s episode will bring, and to see all of what Bill has planned!

What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Is Jen handling turning 40 well? Would you like someone to surprise you with a wedding vow renewal? Let us know your thoughts below!

I just love watching you on t.v.. You are a match fore each other and you are so both beautiful and I adore your children. I am very happy Jen that you beat the cancer. I was so sad to see you go through all these treatments. Life isn’t always the way we would like at times, you are a very strong woman and with the support of Bill it made it easier to pull through. God bless you and the beautiful children that make you happy. I love seeing you and wish some day to meet you in person. Take care and thank you. Irene

Watched the “Easter” episode. Will’s behavior is annoying. At 4 years old, he pouts and throws fits when he does not get his way. Bill took away his egg dipper because he kept putting it in his mouth. Then gives it back to him. No means no! Then he threw a fit at the park because he wanted ice cream. They bribed him! What kind of parenting skills are these? They are not his “friends”. Jen and Bill have said they don’t believe in punishment. They need to act like parents and stop spoiling them before its too late. Will is 4 years old and talks like a 1 year old. They encourage him to make sounds rather than say the word. Speech therapy doesn’t seem to be working. Zoey is much more advanced and easier to handle than Will. Adopted or not, they need to treat these kids like any other parents would. What’s with the diapers. Bill has been with Will for months now. Why is he not potty trained? Hey Bill..you are the father…not his playmate! No way he can get into a preK wearing diapers and I don’t care whose celeb’s child he is.

Obviously you don’t have children—or a clue.

I’ve been watching the show from the start, and my respect for them has increased steadily. Bill is a great guy…and Jen is wonderful too! They are so lucky to have found each other!!!! May love and happiness follow them all the days of their live! :) I look forward to many more seasons of The Little Couple, watching Will and Zoey (both SO cute!!!) grow, and seeing how Bill and Jen handle everything that comes their way :)
