Jack couldn’t quite stop Margot from firing her drones on London on the June 9 episode of ’24: Live Another Day.’ Plus, who is controlling Navarro?
The June 9 episode of 24: Live Another Day featured London in ruin. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) and Kate (Yvonne Strahovski) tried to save Simone (Emily Berrington) — and London — from Margot’s (Michelle Fairley) wrath, Heller (William Devane) made a tough call and Margot came after Jack with her drones, resulting in mass destruction. Read on for full recap!
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Saving Simone
As you saw at the end of the last episode, Simone was hit by a bus. This week’s episode picked up right where we left off. Simone was in bad shape, but was expected to live. The driver told the police officer that Simone was chasing someone when she was hit. When they asked little Yasmin about Simone, she said Simone killed her mother!
Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) identified Simone as the victim of the bus accident and relayed that information to Jack. Jack had to head to the hospital to talk to Simone about Margot. Hundreds of thousands of lives were at stake.
Jack called Heller and told him about the lead on Simone. Heller agreed to put her on immediate guard and that Jack would have full access to her. However, Jack was quick to add the bit about the MI-5 officers interfering with his operation. Heller apologized and he screamed at the Prime Minister (Stephen Fry) for surveilling Jack. The Prime Minister agreed to work with Heller, but was not going to let London be reduced to ruin. The Prime Minister also brought up Heller’s deteriorating health and that pushed Heller over the edge.
Margot called Simone after hearing about the accident, but the paramedic picked up the phone. Margot became noticeably upset. She asked Ian to call up a friend who could find out about Simone’s condition and if the police knew she was an Al-Harazi.
Meanwhile, Jordan (Giles Matthey) was still digging into the Kate’s husband’s file, much to Navarro’s (Benjamin Bratt) dismay. The man controlling Navarro already knew about Jordan accessing the data, and was NOT having it. He basically told Navarro to have Jordan taken care of. Oh, and who was controlling Navarro? ADRIAN CROSS (Michael Wincott)!
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Saving Simone
Jack and Kate headed to the hospital. Kate went to talk to Yasmin, while Jack headed for Simone’s room. However, Jack had an new problem to deal with — Margot’s new guy, who was most likely an assassin. He changed into scrubs, but didn’t forget his gun. Kate talked to Yasmin and asked her what happened. Yasmin pretty much retold the story as we saw it and she even included that she hoped Simone died!
Margot’s assassin told her that Simone had told Farrah to get the heck out of London. That left Margot fuming. She wanted to know EXACTLY where Simone was in the building. “She betrayed me once,” Margot said. “I won’t let her do it again.” She told Ian to move the drone within range of the hospital! (Gulp.)
Back at CIA headquarters, Navarro told Jordan he was going into the field. This shocked Jordan, but he was excited at the idea. “It’s important that this stays between us,” Navarro said. That’s basically a red flag in any given situation. (Don’t go Jordan! It’s a trap!)
Heller sat down with Mark (Tate Donovan) and Audrey (Kim Raver) to talk about how the Prime Minister knows about his condition. Heller was adamant about not wanting to be questioned on every move he made. He told Mark that as soon as they got back to Washington that he wanted to set up a meeting with the Vice President and bring him up to speed on the transition.
Jack finally got to see Simone and she knew who she was dealing with instantly. He told her he knew about her mother’s plan and said she was the only one who could stop it. Simone refused and then Jack went rogue. He realized Margot had her finger chopped off and he squeezed her wound until she passed out since she didn’t tell him anything. Jack showed no mercy toward Simone. (That’s the Jack we know and love.)
Kate watched the whole thing and was shocked at Jack’s lack of empathy. He apologized, but just wanted to prevent Margot from attacking London. As they were talking, Jack noticed Margot’s assassin, who didn’t quite blend in well enough. A chase throughout the hospital ensued and an officer shot him dead. He had texted Margot Simone’s location and she replied, “8 minutes.”
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Weapons Of Mass Destruction
Jack and Kate had eight minutes to get everyone out of the hospital because Margot was sending a drone to kill her own daughter. (Motherly love?) Jack knew he had to get Simone, even though they had no seconds to spare.
Ian and Margot were one minute to target. Jack had Simone, but she still didn’t believe her mother was after her. Jack threw her to the floor and threatened to leave her. “Please don’t leave me here,” Simone pleaded. Meanwhile, Kate was racing to save Yasmin. Ian realized everyone was already evacuating, but Margot said to fire anyway!
Ian and Margot managed to find Simone on their radar and they fired! Thankfully, they just missed Jack, Kate and Simone. However, the area surrounding them wasn’t so lucky. It was complete mass destruction. Simone watched all the carnage and couldn’t believe it.
Since this is 2014, Jack was not engaged in a car chase with a drone. Ian found them, but missed them once again. They only had one more missile and Ian needed to get down to 20,000 feet to make sure he hit Simone. Jack, Kate and Simone switched cars, which threw Ian off. Jack put a brick on the gas pedal and let the car go. Ian thought they had them and fired. BOOM. But Ian and Margot failed…again. Jack, Kate and Simone got away, but Simone’s injuries were getting worse.
Jordan followed Navarro’s orders and went on his mission. Like we anticipated, Jordan was shot and fell into the river. The shooter looked for Jordan’s body to come up, but he didn’t. That’s because Jordan was alive!
Mark met with the Russian diplomat again, who insisted they hand over Jack. The diplomat realized Heller’s signature was forged on the order. He reminded Mark that it an act of treason. Mark told him he needed time. “Once Bauer serves his purpose, then everyone gets what they way.” (Don’t be so sure, Mark.)
Heller called Jack, who said he had Simone. Heller wanted to know if there was a real chance they could stop Margot before his time was up. Jack hesitated. Heller wanted to see Jack and he would explain everything when he got there.
Heller received contact information on Margot, but didn’t want anyone to know about it. He called Margot and said he was ready to surrender. Margot thought this was a tactic to buy more time, but Heller wasn’t playing around. He just wanted to make sure that if he handed himself over that the madness would stop. Margot agreed. She waited for Heller’s decision.
“My decision has already been made,” Heller said, as he prepared to hand himself over to Margot.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of tonight’s 24: Live Another Day? Will Jack be able to stop Heller from surrendering to Margot? Can Simone really stop all the madness? Do you still like Jack and Kate as a team? Let us know!
