Three new characters are rumored to join Season 5 of ‘Game Of Thrones’ — read on if you dare! Spoilers are below.
Season 4 of Game Of Thrones has yet to wrap, but that’s not stopping the rumor mill from churning with casting rumors for Season 5! Read on to find out who you might expect to see in Westeros (and possibly beyond) next year! Light Song Of Ice And Fire spoilers are below, however, so proceed with caution!
‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Casting Spoilers: Varamyr Sixskins And Young Cersei?
From sources at WinterIsComing.net, here’s the latest in casting rumors:
Varamyr: In A Song Of Ice And Fire, Varamyr Sixskins is a wildling warg — skinchanger — who first appears in A Storm Of Swords, the third book in the series. Season 4 of GoT was supposed to follow the latter half of SoS, but it looks like wargs and other northern mythology have their time in the sun in Season 5. Varamyr typically has control of three wolves, a snow bear, and a shadowcat, but he also possesses Orell’s eagle after his death — while Orell is still kind of in residence. I had an ill-advised joke about roommates and the cost of rent, here, but I’ll spare us all, I think.
Imogen is a 12-year-old blonde girl who we do not see in the books. WinterIsComing.net has speculated that casting “Imogen” is a red herring and that the young girl is actually supposed to be a young Cersei. Indeed, they pointed out that casting for young Cersei has been underway at least since May 29.
‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5: Cersei Will Receive A Dire Prophecy
Finally, a brunette girl, also aged 12, is being cast. This points to the likely possibility that we’ll see a very specific flashback from Cersei’s youth — a time when, at a fair, Cersei sought out Maggy the Frog, a fortune teller from Lannisport. At the time, Cersei was enamored by Rhaegar Targaryen, and Maggy allowed Cersei three questions. We won’t spoil it too badly for you, but Google it if you’re feeling brave! Maggy delivers Cersei a dire prophecy which she chooses to ignore — and which we can see coming true.
So, HollywoodLifers, are you looking forward to Season 5 already? What are your predictions for the end of Season 4? And hey, go easy on the spoilers! Not everybody has read the super-lengthy series, and good for them, because we might be waiting until our souls have left this plane for George R. R. Martin‘s next installment.
