Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt take over theaters on June 6 in their latest blockbuster movie, ‘Edge of Tomorrow’. Does the movie live up to the hype? Is it the must-see flick of the summer? Read on for your full review to find out if Tom Cruise has still got it!
Edge of Tomorrow takes the war on alien invaders to whole new level. Tom Cruise, 51, and Emily Blunt‘s, 31, chemistry together is anything but stagnate, and the duo pushes the envelope in the action packed, adrenaline filled movie. But are the two leads strong enough to carry the sci-fi flick? Beware: major spoilers ahead!
‘Edge of Tomorrow': Tom Cruise’s Best Flick Yet?
Does Tom Cruise ever age? In Edge of Tomorrow, Tom can run, jump and fight off extraterrestrials better than any 20-year-old actor I’ve seen.
Tom plays Major William Cage and I have to admit, the military role agrees with him. Lookin’ good, Tom!
Major William Cage finds himself in quite the pickle — Tom’s character has never seen combat, but he shines in front of the camera, as the military’s media spokesperson, until the war takes an ugly turn and he gets thrown to the front lines against his will.
Spoiler alert: he gets killed within minutes.
But have no fear! Major Cage gets another chance. And another. And another. And well, probably about a hundred more chances to relive the last 24 hours of his life.
Watch Out Tom — Emily Blunt Kicks Ass
Thrust into a time-loop and back at the military base, Major Cage finds himself living out the day all over again. He quickly learns that any effort he makes to survive the battle, inevitably comes with his death.
That is until he meets Emily Blunt‘s character, Rita Vrataski, the tough-as-nails soldier who takes on the task of turning Major Cage from a coward, sensitive mouth piece into a skilled and downright ruthless warrior.
The British beauty not only flaunts her sexy, toned, muscular body on screen, but she backs up her bod with a hard hitting, tenacious character. Move over boys — there’s a new solider in town and she is a force to be reckoned with!
(By the way, didn’t Emily just have a baby? What a comeback!)
Edge of Tomorrow hits theaters on June 6, and it’s worth the roller coaster ride of emotions.
HollywoodLifers, are you going to race out and see Edge of Tomorrow? Let me know!
