The parents of the 12-year-old girl who was stabbed 19 times, allegedly by her two friends, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, are speaking out for the first time to let the world know she is doing well. Thank goodness!
On Saturday, May 31, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, both 12, lured their still unidentified friend into the woods and allegedly attempted to kill her in the name of their favorite urban legend, Slender Man. The victim, 12, somehow miraculously survived the attack, and on June 5 her parents spoke out for the first time about the horrifying incident.
Slender Man Stabbing Victim Is Recovering After Being Stabbed 19 Times
For the first time since the unidentified 12-year-old girl was stabbed 19 times on May 31, her parents have revealed that their daughter is doing just fine.
“Our little girl is a fighter and is making strides of improvement each and every day. We appreciate your patience, love and support as we too are stunned and saddened by this tragedy,” the parents wrote on a GoFundMe page, according to Daily Mail.
While the little girl’s identity remains anonymous, the GoFundMe page was created by someone named Tammie Figlinski. There is no word on what the connection between Tammie and the stabbing victim could be.
According to the report, the little girl is already walking again around the hospital, and occasionally she rests by watching television in her wheelchair.
However, the message from the victim’s parents is no longer on the GoFundMe page, which was started to help the victim’s family pay for her medical expenses.
As of Thursday, June 5, over $18,000 had been raised for the Slender Man stabbing victim. The fundraiser was started on June 3, and repeatedly asks that family and friends do not mention the victim’s name due to the fact that she is a minor.
The family has also started a social media campaign in honor of the stabbing victim, encouraging family, friends, and supporters to use the hashtag #HeartsForHealing.
On the Facebook page supporters will find updates from the victim’s family, as well as updates about the GoFundMe page which has already proven to be a success.
Morgan and Anissa, the alleged stabbers, are due to appear back in court on Wednesday, June 11. Be sure to check HollywoodLife.com for updates on this horrific attack.
Our thoughts remain with the victim and her family at this time. We are thrilled to hear that she is doing well, and hope she can return home sooner rather than later.
