Giuliana & Bill Rancic Will Try For A Baby One More Time
The road to parenthood has not been easy for Giuliana and Bill, but they are definitely resilient.
On Monday, June 2, the couple announced that their surrogate, Delphine, had suffered a miscarriage while carrying their second child. The heartbreaking loss happened at just 9 weeks into the pregnancy — right around the time Giuliana and Bill started making plans to share the exciting news with their loved ones.
Now, Giuliana has revealed that once Delphine recovers from the miscarriage, they only have one more chance at having another child.
“We have one embryo left,” Giuliana told People on June 4.
Giuliana and Bill used their surrogate Delphine to conceive their adorable son, Duke, 1, in 2012 after failed IVF treatments, a miscarriage, and Giuliana’s breast cancer scare. At the time, Giuliana had a number of embryos frozen so that they could try for a second child later in life.
“I’m on cancer medication for a few more years. I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that I may never carry a child. With that said, this next embryo, there’s no guarantees. In that case, that’s it,” Giuliana explained.
Bill also chimed in, “Duke was a gift after a miscarriage. Delphine will be on board for one more try, so we’re certainly optimistic about the future and hope that we’re going to be able to give him a little brother or sister.”
Well, one thing is for sure: we are definitely rooting for Giuliana and Bill. They have been through so much, and they definitely deserve a chance to continue expanding their already beautiful little family.
