’22 Jump Street’ actor Jonah Hill was filmed hurling a homophobic slur at a photographer in LA over the weekend of May 31. Watch the shocking video, and tell us if you buy his apology!
Jonah Hill, 30, an outspoken advocate for gay rights, was filmed using a homophobic slur over the weekend of May 31 in LA. While being followed by photographers, Jonah is seen walking with a friend and visibly frustrated by the paparazzi attention. Just as the paps left him alone, Jonah let loose! Check out the video below — and his apology — and tell us if you think he’s being sincere!
Jonah Hill Homophobic? Hurls Slur At Photographer
One photographer sarcastically complimented Jonah’s flower-patterned board shorts, to which Jonah didn’t respond. After being followed for a few more seconds, the pap leaves, telling Jonah to have a nice day, which is when Jonah yells at him to “s*** my d***, f****t!” It’s pretty shocking, considering that we’ve never really seen Jonah lash out like this, and considering that Jonah is an outspoken LGBT advocate.
To protest Russia’s anti-gay laws, he tweeted a photo of himself on Nov. 23 wearing a t-shirt that read “Love Conquers Hate” in Russian, and later explained to E! News when he was asked about why he posted the photo, Jonah replied, “I have tons of gay friends, gay family members. It’s like saying, ‘Why do you think people should breathe?’ […] “I support anybody doing whatever they want to do to be who they are.”
Jonah Hill Apologizes For Using Homophobic Slur
The video was released by TMZ in the wee hours of June 3, and Jonah apologized for his remarks on Howard Stern‘s show later that same morning, telling the radio host that, “What I said in that moment was disgusting […] I shouldn’t have said that.”
Jonah also mentioned that he happened to be spending the whole day with a gay friend who is getting married soon, which… is not really the best course for an apology. Similar to, “I’m not racist, I have plenty of black friends!” You know who said that they have black friends? Duck Dynasty‘s Phil Robertson. Just saying.
What do you think of the video, HollywoodLifers? Big deal, or not so much? Does Jonah’s apology ring sincere? Let us know!
