For the first time, Chris may have actually learned something from being in jail. After the R&B singer was released from prison on June 2nd, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he’s relieved that he had gained a new perspective on life, and is serious about trying to stay clean and not go back to his old ways.
The tragic thing about the last year of Chris Brown‘s life is that he’s continued to make the same sort of mistakes over and over again. But he finally might be turning those mistakes into learning experiences, a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, Chris has realized the benefits of a clean lifestyle after spending most of 2014 in and out of jail and rehab.
Chris Brown: Staying Clean After Prison Stint
“Jail was one of those things that humbled Chris and really just made him understand, point blank, that the world doesn’t revolve around him,” the source says. That’s a huge realization for Chris to come to, and it’s already changing the way he wants to live his life — for the better.
“He’s going to be taking his prescribed medication daily and do his best not to smoke or even drink,” the insider adds. “After being in jail, he’s proven to himself that he can in fact live without abusing those substances and wants to continue that type of sober living. He can do it. And he will because he knows it’s good for him.”
Chris is also facing his anger issues — arguably his most debilitating problem — head on by trying to keep a calm, tempered head, according to the source. “He’s also trying to get to a place where he doesn’t pop off on people just at the drop of a dime. He’s working on how to control his mind and understand that he has full control over his actions.”
Chris Brown Released From Jail
Chris was released early from jail on June 2 after having spent most of the year either behind bars or in anger management. Unfortunately he isn’t completely free just yet — his assault trial stemming from an Oct. 2013 altercation in Washington D.C. is still looming, set for later this month.
It has been a horrible year for Chris so far, but he seems to finally be taking some responsibility for his actions, and that’s the first step to making sure he stays out of jail and out of trouble.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Will Chris be able to stay clean and out of jail? Let us know!
