This is awful. A little girl drowned in a 4-feet-deep pool while party guests were singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to another child. Adult guests desperately tried to save the little girl with CPR, but it was too late.

At a birthday party for a 1-year-old child, a 4-year-old little girl tragically drowned in a 4-feet-deep pool while the guests were singing “Happy Birthday.” Guests spotted the little girl drowning after the song was finished and tried administering CPR, but unfortunately they were not able to save her. So sad.

Toddler, 4, Drowns In Pool During Birthday Party

This is heartbreaking.

While party guests were singing “Happy Birthday” to a 1-year-old during a pool party, a little girl went unsupervised and drowned in the 4-feet-deep section of a pool.

Police have ruled in the incident a tragic mistake, and referred to it as “situational” due to the fact adults were present, but turned their attention away from the pool just long enough for this tragedy to take place.

The little girl made her way into the pool without the appropriate swim gear while party guests had their backs turned to sing to the other child, Fox28 reports.

“It appears that its situational. In other words something else was going on. They were singing happy birthday to the child. So a lot of folks had their attention diverted away from the pool,” Sergeant Christ Holzhauser told the outlet.

According to police, the little girl had been wearing protective gear while in the pool earlier that day. However, the gear was removed after she was taken out of the pool.

How sad. Our thoughts go out to the little girl and her devastated family at this time.

Don't put your hands on me!

Who was supposed to be watching her?
I hated giving my kids B-Day parties, because parents think they can just drop off their kids and pick them up all happy and full of goodies.
NO!!! not me you have to stay and watch your child. I have a party to run and I can’t do that and watch all of the kids.
If other adults were there and it was time to sing they are to gather ALL! of the kids. Count heads if you have to, it’s what I do.
All adults at the party should have a job. If everyone helps out, stuff like this wouldn’t happen.
My condolences to the families involved.
