A little boy, 6, was riding in the elevator with his friend, 7, when an unidentified man attacked them with a butcher knife. After killing the boy, the man continued to chase the little girl until she collapsed. Horrifying.
Prince Joshua Avitto, 6, and his friend, Mikayla Capers, 7, were leaving their building to get ice cream cones together when a man brutally attacked them while riding the elevator inside their apartment building. The terrifying attack left Prince lifeless inside of the elevator, while Mikayla is now in critical condition after she desperately escaped their attacker once the elevator doors opened.
Boy, 5, Stabbed To Death Inside Elevator
Only a maniac could be capable of such a violent act.
Two small children, Prince and Mikayla, got on the elevator inside their apartment building together in hopes of getting ice cream cones on Sunday, June 1 in their East New York neighborhood.
Without any warning, an unidentified man inside the elevator with the children began attacking both of them with a butcher knife. Both children suffered multiple stab and hack wounds.
Sadly, Prince was killed while they were still trapped inside the elevator with the monster, but once the doors opened Mikayla was able to escape and ran for her life.
The man chased Mikayla through the first floor of their building and out onto the street, until her little body gave up and she finally collapsed in front of another building.
“[Prince] was lifeless, just lifeless. I can’t get the image out of my head,” neighbor Kevin Velez, 41, told the New York Post after the little boy was discovered. “There was blood all over the front door. This is horrendous. The police need to catch this animal.”
As of Sunday night, Mikayla was in critical condition and undergoing emergency surgery at Brookdale Hospital.
“They done killed my baby,” Prince’s mother exclaimed during an emotional breakdown outside of the hospital. “His birthday was in 16 days! Lord, they done killed my baby!”
Our thoughts remain with Prince, Mikayla, and their families at this tragic time.
