‘The Strain’ — WATCH Brand New Trailer
Summer TV is off to a hot start, but is it about to die with The Strain? Well, the victims of a defunct plane in the brand new trailer definitely do.
Academy Award winning screenwriter and director Guillermo de Toro, the man behind Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth, brings his next vision to the small screen with the upcoming vampire horror drama, which is based off of his his trilogy of novels with the same name.
When a mysterious plane lands at JFK airport with all lights off and doors closed, a team is sent to investigate, and they find only four survivors, among 200 corpses. How did this happen? Apparently, an ancient threat is washing over humanity, and spreads across the city with even more bodies disappearing from morgues.
“I have seen this disease before,” says an investigator in the trailer (above). “All of the passengers must be destroyed!”
The living must protect themselves from the threat. And if not, the world could end. “The end of our world is the beginning of theirs.”
The Strain premieres on July 13 (10/9c) on FX.
