Journey-man Steve Perry surprised a crowd in St.Paul, Minnesota and did something he hasn’t done in over 20 years — he sang live in front of his fans!

After 20 years of being retired from singing, Steve Perry, former lead vocalist of the rock band Journey, performed with alternative-rock band Eels for a surprise encore. He came out with a band, singing the Eels’ song “It’s A Motherf—er.”

Steve Perry Sings Live For The First Time In Nearly 20 Years

Steve has finally returned to the stage! Steve sang in front of approximately 1,000 fans on May 26 with a practically perfect vocal performance. Can you believe he’s been retired for 20 years? It sure didn’t seem like it!

At the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, Steve not only sang “It’s A Motherf–er,” but the Eels joined Steve in singing a couple of Journey classics — “Open Arms,” followed by “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’.”

After performing “It’s A Motherf—er,” Steve explained to the crowd, “I love that song. Tonight was the first time I ever sang it.” Well Steve, you killed it!

Simply incredible! We hope that we won’t have to wait another 20 years before Steve sings for the public again!

Steve Perry: Nothing Stops Him From Performing

Steve hasn’t sang with Journey since 1991 — furthermore, he hasn’t even performed alone since 1995. Steve, you’ve been missed!

After publicizing his health problems, which consisted of arthritis, a hip replacement, and melanoma-removal surgery, it’s great to see him back on the stage again!

Upon Steve’s arrival onstage, Eel’s lead singer, Mark Everett, joked, “They don’t applaud like that for me! I guess I gotta disappear for 25 years!”

So, HollwoodLifers, how awesome is it to have Steve back on the stage? Do you wish you were lucky enough to see Steve perform live? Let us know your thoughts!
