’19 Kids & Counting’ — Is There Another Duggar On The Way?
On last week’s episode, we saw Jim Bob and Michelle visited a fertility specialist to see if Michelle is still physically able to have more children.
Michelle’s results came back with bittersweet news. Apparently, she is still able to have children, but it will be highly unlikely given her age.
Despite the fact that the results were not as positive as Michelle and Jim Bob had hoped, Michelle said, “Even after these tests, if I found out that I was pregnant again, I would thank God for this life that he’s given us, and I would embrace it with the joy and the hope that I would get to hold this baby and love on it.”
You have to admit, Michelle is one strong woman. Jim Bob is very lucky to have her!
Derick Returns Home From Nepal
Jill was THRILLED when she found out that Derick was finally leaving Nepal and coming home for good. As a surprise for Derick, Jill and the entire Duggar family made a bunch of fun signs and picked up some balloons so that they could surprise him with a warm welcome at the airport.
Although this is the first time the Duggar clan will meet Derick, Jill talks about him so much that they feel like they already know him — sure sounds like a girl in love!
Jim Bob said, “I’ve never seen Jill so excited about anything, she was so excited about Derick coming back and starting this relationship, and I think she’s thinking wedding bells are going to be ringing real soon.”
When Jill saw Derick at the airport she just could not contain her excitement, and she even stepped over the “Do Not Cross” barrier which caused several alarms to go off. Oops!
Then the two embraced in a full-frontal hug, a physical step that they had both agreed not to take — but in their excitement over seeing each other again they just could not help themselves. Romantic!
Derick said, “It seemed like it was years. It was hard because once you’re with someone and then I was there for two months, I still had two months after we started courting, two long months, longest months of my life. Looking back on it, it was a short time, but I don’t think we ever want to go that long in the future without seeing each other.”
Aww! We’re sure they won’t have to deal with that distance again.
The Duggars Go On A Triple Date
Jim Bob and Michelle decided that it would be fun to take Ben and Jessa along with Jill and Derick on a triple date. Michelle thought it would be a great way for them to get to know each other. How nice of her!
It was really cute when Derick and Ben both showed up at the house in their handsome suits and looking slightly nervous about their group date. Derick later told us that he thought Jill looked “gorgeous” on their date night.
Michelle planned the entire evening and she made sure to keep things a surprise — even from Jim Bob. The plan for the night? An etiquette class!
Of course, Derick was especially nervous once he learned what they would be doing on the date — especially after his time in Nepal.
Derick said, “I’ve been in a country where we ate with our hands for 2 years.” That would make us nervous, too!
During their etiquette dinner, Ben gave a toast to love which really impressed Michelle. She later called him a “sweet romantic.” Way to win over Jessa’s mom!
The Duggar Children’s Dinner Theater
Over the last few weeks, the Duggar children have been planning a pleasant surprise for Jim Bob and Michelle. They even wanted to make sure that Josh, who lives pretty far away in D.C., could be apart of the show by filming his section during a recent family visit to the capital. Clever!
Jana, who was in charge of the surprise, did a great job of making sure that everything was set up and ready for their parents when they arrived home.
In typical Duggar fashion, the event was huge! They even had a stage built with the help of Derick and Ben, and everyone was assigned different jobs and stations for efficiency.
Jinger and Jessa were put in charge of preparing the meal which included soup, salad, steak and sweet potato fries with asparagus, and home made apple pie with ice cream for dessert. Yummy!
When Jim Bob and Michelle arrived home, all of the lights were off with one shining on a candle lit table for two. Once the couple sat down, the curtains opened revealing Jill and Jana playing the harp.
What was so special about the event was that every child was apart of a act whether it was singing, reading poems, or acting out a skit with a positive message. Every Duggar got involved and made their proud parents well up with emotion.
Jim Bob said, “It seems like over the years, we’ve invested in our kids lives over and over playing games, cleaning up messes, doing this for them, getting them this and that, and for them to just go and spend time to thank us and to honor us for raising them, it’s one of the most special things that can happen for a parent.”
All of the kids poured their hearts and souls into making this the best show for the parents possible. It was really sweet to see and we loved that both Michelle and Jim Bob shed a tear and had a special evening.
