Can you believe Mick Jagger is a great-grandfather? The Rolling Stones rocker crossed his new milestone when his 21-year-old granddaughter, Assisi, gave birth to her first child. Wow!
Mick Jagger, 70, the man who still rocks the stage like a young 20-something with his band, The Rolling Stones, has just become a great-grandfather. Unbelievable! How can a man with such a young presence already hold such an aged title? Despite now being a great-grandfather, Mick will hit the road once again with his band when they reunite on stage in Oslo, Norway on May 26. Awesome!
Mick Jagger Becomes A Great-Grandfather
Thankfully, Mick’s granddaughter gave him a reason to smile again when she made him a great-grandfather for the very first time.
Unfortunately, very few details about Assisi’s daughter have been revealed, but we are sure she is a happy and healthy little girl.
And don’t worry about Assisi’s young age — apparently being a young mom runs in the family.
“The women in our family just tend to have children young, it runs in the genes,” Assisi told the magazine shortly after news of her pregnancy broke.
This may be the first child for Assisi, but Mick is a father of seven and grandfather to four.
Assisi Calls Mick By His First Name
Even though Mick has both a father and a grandfather title in the Jagger family, Assisi has explained that they are not a very formal towards him at all.
“I imagine it’s nice to be a great-grandad – although I’m not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one,” the new mom explained to the magazine in Nov. 2013.
“I call him Mick – I wouldn’t start calling him grandpa.”
Following the exciting news of Mick becoming a great-grandfather, the Rolling Stones are set to hit the stage again on May 26 in Oslo, Norway. The concert will be their first since the band postponed their Australian and New Zealand dates following L’Wren’s suicide.
Whatever the new baby girl calls Mick, we are just happy to hear that Mick and his family are healing together and, hopefully, moving on from the tragic loss of their beloved L’Wren.
