Behati Prinsloo and Alessandra Ambrosio dished on how they stay in shape all year long — and even if you haven’t been working on your fitness all year long, the gals shared supermodel secrets on how you can prep last minute before you hit the sand in style.
Memorial Day weekend is mere weeks away and if you’re feeling like swimsuit season has somehow snuck up on you, don’t fret — we’ve all been there, and it shouldn’t stop you from slipping into your bathing suit! Sure, we have no quick fix on how to sculpt a six-pack in just days, but there are some things you can do if you want to look better in a bikini — and who better to turn to for swimsuit secrets than the sexy Victoria’s Secret Angels themselves? We caught up with Behati Prinsloo and Alessandra Ambrosio who shared their tips for last minute prep.
Victoria’s Secret Model Bikini Tips — How To Get Ready Fast:
We celebrated the launch of the Victoria’s Secret Swim 2014 collection with the beauties in NYC on Mar. 17, where they showed off their favorite swimsuit styles — and their tips on looking good before hitting the beach. Alessandra admits that it’s always bikini season for the Brazilian beauty — but a great spray tan can go a long when when you want to conceal imperfections. “I think self-tanning spray helps when you don’t have much time — especially if you want to look a little nicer,” the model shared. “I think a self tanner, like the Victoria’s Secret spray-tan you can put on yourself, goes a long way. It’s a great way of getting to the beach and feeling better about yourself. It’s a tinted lotion, so you don’t have to worry about streaks because you know where you are applying and putting it!”
How does Alessandra keep her body bikini-ready all year round? She’s all about mixing it up — and can’t get enough of cardio! “When I know I have something important coming up or want to look incredible on the beach, I think, it’s all about doing pilates classes for me. So I do this class in California called Pilates Platinum, and then when I’m in NY I go to a place that has a mix of bar classes and pilates, and that’s like a killer exercise. Cardio, too. There are also these stairs by my house, like really long stairs, so I’ll do that because it’s good for cardio. I also like spinning classes.”
Behati Prinsloo’s Workout Tips:
When it comes to staying in shape and looking good in the summer, don’t be discouraged if you’ve been slacking all year round — get out and get ready to have some fun! “In the summer time it is easier for me to stay in shape because there’s a lot of more outdoor activities that I can do,” Behati said. “I like beach volleyball, I love stand-up paddle boarding, or going hiking or something. It’s easier for me to workout in the summer, because it’s more fun.”
So, what does Behati do if she wants to look good last minute? She said a spray tan and a quick diet and fitness routine can go a long way! “If it sort of sneaks up on me I’ll put on a self-tanner,” she said. “A summer glow makes everyone feel better!” She also admitted that watching what you eat can help you feel better in a bikini. “Cut out sugar and salt. When I’m getting ready for the show or before a shoot I’ll try to watch what I eat. Sweets and salty foods can cause you to retain water weight,” she said.
