Talk about perfect timing. On May 12, a video surfaced of her attacking Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Ball — but a song was also released the same day that features Solange singing about fighting! Listen to the shocking song here.
Chromeo released their album on May 12, which includes a song featuring Solange Knowles. In “Lost on the Way Home,” the 27-year-old asks the question of “who’s gonna have your back when the shove comes to squishin’?” The song is absolutely shocking since it came out the same day the video surfaced of herself shoving Jay Z !
Solange Knowles Sings About Fighting
On May 12, the same day the video was released showing Solange going after Jay on May 5 after the Met Ball, a new song was released, too — and it goes right along with the fighting!
Here is one of Solange’s verses in “Lost on the Way Home”:
Who’s gonna to have your time, when it’s down to the minute? / Who’s gonna have your time? / Who’s gonna have your back, when the shove comes squishin’? / Who’s gonna have your back?
Sounds pretty intense!
Solange Was Defending Beyonce In Jay Z Fight
It’s no surprise that Solange is singing about who will “have your back” — since she definitely has her sister, Beyonce‘s back. A source close to the Knowles family revealed that Bey and Jay had a “heated conversation” before the Met Ball, and Solange doesn’t appreciate Jay’s “controlling” ways.
“Solange doesn’t like the way Jay Z controls Beyonce. Beyonce would never speak up to him or defend herself, so Solange does it. Solange is not afraid of him and is fed up with him calling all the shots in Beyonce’s life,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Solange doesn’t like that Jay Z is so controlling. That’s why Beyonce didn’t do anything, because Solange was coming to HER defense. Solange and Beyonce are extremely tight and Solange has always been very protective of her. Obviously Solange couldn’t take it anymore and flipped out.”
Well, the song makes sense then! What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Beyonce and Jay Z will be mad when they hear the song? Or is it just coincidence?
