‘Glee’ wraps up its fifth season tonight, and we all know that Naya Rivera will not be in the big episode, as she was written out of the finale! But will she return to the new season?
Santana (Naya Rivera) will not be featured in Glee‘s May 13 finale, and either will Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch)! HollywoodLife.com caught up with Jane who gave us the scoop on the upcoming sixth season, which doesn’t return until 2015 — are Naya, Lea Michele and Jane coming back? Keep reading for exclusive details!
Jane Lynch Speaks About The ‘Glee’ Season Finale
Glee‘s penultimate season wraps up on May 13, and it sure has been a dramatic one!
From rumors of on-set fights to Naya Rivera being written out of the season finale, Gleeks everywhere are waiting to see how the final episode shakes up. Jane Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester, caught up with HollywoodLife.com to give us the details on the big finale — but unfortunately, she doesn’t know much because she’s not in the episode!
“I don’t know! I haven’t read [the script] because they don’t give me the script if I’m not in it,” Jane told us at the network upfront on May 12 in New York City. “I am as excited, as you are!”
Who Will Return To The Final Season Of ‘Glee’ — Is Naya Rivera Fired?
While Jane isn’t in the finale, things are looking promising for her. (Really, what would Glee be without Sue Sylvester?!)
“They had me come to upfronts so I hope I’m coming back! If they bring you to upfronts, it’s usually a good thing,” Jane EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com. Also at the FOX upfront was Lea Michele. Noticeably not at upfronts? Naya Rivera.
Probably not a good sign for Ms. Santana, but Jane assures us that she is not aware of any decisions for next season’s casting shakeups. “I haven’t heard a thing,” admitted Jane.
Of course, Naya made headlines for rumors of an on-set fight with Lea Michele, which HollywoodLife.com reported as untrue, but we did get to the bottom of the feud: Naya had some sort of altercation with producers. “She went off on one of the producers on the show and they got really upset with her and it escalated from there.”
‘Glee’ Will Not Return For Season 6 Until 2015
As for the final season, FOX announced on Monday, May 12, that Glee will not return in 2015! No word on the holdup, but we have to wonder, is the network waiting on contract renewals for certain cast members?
With all of this uncertainty, one thing is for sure: Jane is not looking forward to the series’ end.
“It’s going to be sad wrapping this up, and I guess I could start the mourning process now, but I don’t want to think about it,” said Jane. “It’s sad — it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
HollywoodLifers, did you watch the season finale of Glee? Did you miss Naya? Do you hope that she returns to the final sixth season in 2015 or do you think she should be fired? Let us know!
