The Top 4 was cut down to the Top 3 on the May 8 episode of ‘American Idol’, and America is thisclose to crowning its newest winner! Find out who got the axe in our full recap below!
Guys. You guys. American Idol Season 13 is almost over! On the May 8 episode, another Idol hopeful bit the dust, and we’ll give you a hint — it was someone who has performed an original song on the show in the past. It was sad to see them leave, but their send-off was powerful. Read on for our full recap and tell us if you’re sad to see this latest contestant go!
‘American Idol’ Recap: Just Three Contestants Left In The Competition
The contestant who gets cut will be sent home, but not in the private jet that the rest of the Idols will be taking! That’s right, next week it’s Homecoming Week, where the remaining Top 3 will be welcomed and celebrated by their hometown.
But let’s get right back down to it, shall we?
Jena Irene is safe — obviously. Her performance of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” on the May 7 episode brought Jennifer Lopez to giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek! (Oh, and Jena told HollywoodLife.com that JLo smells great. You know you wanted to know that.)
Caleb Johnson is also safe! Now that the two clear favorites have made it through, this is actually kind of tense! Alex has been pretty vocal about, well, how non-vocal he is in comparison to the two powerhouses, Caleb and Jena, but he told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that he still hopes that he’s what America is looking for! We hear you, Alex.
‘American Idol’ Recap: Jessica Meuse Eliminated
Looks like America is still looking for Alex, because Jessica Meuse was eliminated. We’ve been on the fence about Jessica, but she really came in to her own toward the end of the competition. However, she had no chance against our current Top 3.
Aw, man. The Idol cameras went in rrreeeal tight on her crying face. Her last song, fittingly, was her original song, “Blue-Eyed Lie.” Teary and red-eyed, she performed her swan song incredibly well and it was as good a send-off as she could have picked for herself.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did Jessica deserve to go home? Or was she your pick for American Idol?
