After images of the video were released, Rob also stated that he was going to be “taking a break” from the re-election campaign to seek help for alcohol abuse, reports CNN.
“It’s not easy to be vulnerable and this is one of the most difficult times in my life,” Ford said in his statement on April 30. “I have a problem with alcohol, and the choices I have made while under the influence. I have struggled with this for some time.”
Rob’s downward spiral started in May 2013 when a cell phone video taken months earlier appeared to show him smoking crack cocaine.
Despite pressure from the Canadian public after the video’s release, he remained as mayor and denied using any illegal drugs. In November 2013, the city council in Toronto stripped him of most of his power as mayor.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think? Do you think Rob is going to get the help he needs or do you think he will continue to spiral out of control?
