When the ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ cast was announced on April 29, there were plenty of recognizable names — Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and even to a lesser extent stars like Oscar Isaac. But there was one who most had never heard of — Daisy Ridley.
The Star Wars saga has launched the careers of many actors, and with Episode VII set to hit theaters in 2015, a new crop of high-profile celebs will be born. No star will be shining brighter than Daisy Ridley, a relative unknown who was the only new woman to join the cast. So who is Daisy, you ask? Let us introduce you!
Daisy Ridley: Who Is The New ‘Star Wars’ Star?
1. She Doesn’t Just Act
This girl is multi-talented. Not only can she lock down a part in the biggest sci-fi movie ever, but she can sing jazz (she’s a mezzo-soprano), dance jazz, tap, and ballet, and play the violin, according to her page on her talent agency’s website. Oh wait we forgot, she’s also a talented swimmer.
2. She Flew Under The Radar
Almost every other actor who was cast in Episode VII was rumored to star at one time or another. But not Daisy. Somehow, this girl is the one secret that Hollywood was able to keep.
3. And She’s Still Trying To Fly Under The Radar
In the hours after Disney announced the Episode VII cast, Daisy’s acting reel was pulled down from Vimeo. She does not have a Wikipedia page. She has no photos on Getty Images, the largest photo database in the world. She has no bio on her IMDB page, and her exact age isn’t listed anywhere. Thankfully, just when we thought this was the biggest catfishing scandal ever, Daisy reactivated her Twitter (though not before deleting all of her previous tweets) to say:

4. She’s Not The Only Family Member Who’s Up-And-Coming
Oh, to be a Ridley. Daisy’s sister, Kika-Rose Ridley (gee, their parents really like flowers), is a model signed to Models1 in London. You can check out some of her (stunning) photos here.
5. Will Harrison Ford Tell Her, “I’m Your Father?”
No one knows who Daisy will be playing yet, but the cast photo that was tweeted along with the announcement may contain a mini-spoiler. In the picture, Daisy was seated in between Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, leading many to believe that Daisy will be playing the role of Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter.
So HollywoodLifers, now that you know Daisy, do you think she’s a good choice for Star Wars: Episode VII? Let us know!
