Teri, otherwise known as Pam in the ‘Meet The Parents’ films, has filed for bankruptcy! How can this happen to a successful actress with such serious franchise credits?
It’s confirmed. Teri Polo of Meet The Parents fame is fresh out of money! That’s right, the star who played Ben Stiller‘s wife and who plays Stef in The Fosters has filed for bankruptcy. We did not see this coming!
Teri Polo: ‘Meet The Parents’ Star Bankrupt
Despite the success of Meet The Parents, Meet The Fockers and even the third and just-not-as-good Little Fockers, the movies’ female lead, Teri has filed for bankruptcy, according to TMZ.
The 44-year-old actress reportedly owes the IRS $772,000 in back taxes and another slightly less whopping $36K in credit card debt. That’s almost a million dollars!
How can someone with so much success fall into such a slump, especially with the obvious ability to hire a money manager in order to avoid these types of issues?
Aside from the Meet The Parents franchise, where she acted alongside such Hollywood heavyweights as Robert de Niro and Barbara Streisand, Teri is also currently the lead on ABC Family’s hit show, The Fosters. Prior to that she appeared on The West Wing for a full year, and guest-starred in other huge TV shows such as Castle, Criminal Minds and Law & Order: LA. She even posed for Playboy in 2005!
Despite this seemingly never-ending filmography, Chapter 11 bankruptcy is no joke — so Teri is obviously in trouble. Hopefully the actress can find her way out of this difficult time soon.
