‘The Voice’ entered its first live elimination show on April 22, and two talented singers were sent home, shocking the judges. Keep reading to see who America voted for and who got cut!
Season 6 of The Voice has introduced the most impressive wave of talent we’ve ever seen so it’s no surprise that the first live elimination show was brutal. The Top 12 was dwindled down to the Top 10, plus the coaches put on great performances. Did your favorite singer make it to the next week of live shows?
‘The Voice’ Enters It’s First Live Elimination Show — Who Is Safe?
Then came the first round of saves. Josh Kaufman of Team Usher was the first to be voted in by America! Next, Team Adam’s Kat Perkins moved on through the competition. Third to be deemed safe was Kristen Merlin from Team Shakira — it looks like her microphone malfunction didn’t harm her! Team Blake was up next, and America voted for Audra McLaughlin!
The next round of results saved one of Team Adam’s members first: Delvin Choice. After Delvin, came country singer Jake Worthington from Team Blake.
With six artists still at risk, Blake Shelton‘s team took the stage for an upbeat performance of “Put Some Drive In Your Country.” It’s so fun to watch the judges join their singers, but unfortunately, the elimination shows aren’t all about fun so it’s time for more results.
Bria Kelly was the next singer to move on to next week, making her coach Usher proud — Bria was screaming with excitement and got a giant hug from Usher! Another proud coach? Adam! Christina Grimmie was the next contestant to be saved by America, also meaning that Adam’s entire team made it to the Top 10.
Finally, Sisaundra Lewis advanced to the next week of the live shows. All three members of Team Blake made it!
Shakira Puts On A Stellar ‘Empire’ Performance
To ease the tense vibe of the night, Shakira put on a killer performance in the middle of the night. The Grammy-winning coach sang “Empire” from her new self-titled album. Shakira proved why she’s a coach for the most successful singing competition show — she rocked the stage!
Shakira also looked like the superstar that she is. She was sporting a super sexy, scandalous outfit of black lace and sequins. Now she’s one hot mama!
The Bottom Three: TJ Wilkins, Dani Moz & Tess Boyer
TJ Wilkins, Dani Moz and Tess Boyer were the unlucky contestants in the bottom three. Each had to sing to save their lives, starting with TJ who sang an incredible rendition of Edwin McCain‘s “I’ll Be.” The judges were all impressed by TJ and Usher even tweeted #SaveTJ from the judges’ panel on live television!
Dani Moz sang Adele‘s “Turning Tables” and Tess Boyer sang Kelly Clarkson‘s “Dark Side.” Both ladies were impressive and it’ll be a shame to see either of them go.
Tess Boyer Is Saved, But TJ & Dani Are Sent Home On ‘The Voice’
Thankfully, there is the Instant Save, which allows America to vote in real-time on Twitter to save just one of the contestants from the bottom three. But still, two contestants have to be sent home.
The Instant Save kept Tess Boyer on the show! Unfortunately, TJ Wilkins and Dani Moz ended their journey on The Voice tonight. We will miss them!
HollywoodLifers, were you said to see TJ and Dani go? Let us know who your favorite singer is in the Top 10!
