So sad. Peaches was laid to rest during an emotional, private funeral held in Davington, England on Easter Monday, April 21.
Peaches Geldof‘s friends and family gathered to pay their respects to the beloved mother of two young sons, who was tragically found dead on April 6 at age 25. The ceremony took place at St. Mary Magdalene and St. Lawrence Church in Davington, a suburb of Kent, England. It is the same church where the funeral for Peaches’ mother, Paula Yates, was held after she died of a heroin overdose in 2000.
Peaches Geldof’s Funeral: Friends & Family’s Tearful Goodbye To Model
Peaches, the daughter of musician Bob Geldof, was remembered by heartbroken friends and family in an emotional, intimate service on Easter Monday.
It seems fitting that Peaches was laid to rest in the same place as her beloved late mother, Paula. The church obviously means a lot to the Geldof family, as Peaches and her husband, Thomas Cohen, also got married at the venue in 2012.
Musician Jools Holland was one of the first to arrive; Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, Kate Moss and her husband Jamie Hince, Jaime Winston, Nick Grimshaw and Mariella Frostrup were also attended the funeral in the village of Davington, near Faversham in Kent. Sting‘s wife Trudie Styler, Jo Wood, and former Rolling Stone bassist Bill Wyman also paid their respects.
The coffin was white, with a painted picture on the side of Peaches, her husband and two children and her pets.
Peaches Geldof’s Body Found Next To 11-Month-Old Son
The cause of Peaches’ death is still a mystery after her autopsy results were inconclusive. The results of her toxicology tests are expected to be released in one to two weeks. Police said her death was being treated as “non-suspicious but sudden and unexplained.” A friend of the family found Peaches dead at her home on April 6, with her 11-month-old son, Phaedra Bloom Forever, by her side.
“The hope is that Phaedra was so young he wasn’t aware of what was going on,” a friend of Peaches’ told The Sun. “The most important thing is that he’s OK. It is devastating for Tom that he wasn’t there but it couldn’t have been avoided.”
The model, writer and television personality is survived by her husband Tom, and their sons Phaedra and Astala Dylan Willow, 23 months.
“My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons,” Tom said in a statement released after her death. “I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peaches’ friends and family during this difficult time.
