How far they’ve come since ‘Twilight!’ It was announced on April 16 that both Rob and Kristen will have movies in the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, which takes place in the middle of May. The news is great for both actors’ careers, but it’s also got us wondering — will the south of France serve as a setting for a romantic reunion?
Kristen Stewart‘s Sils Maria and Robert Pattinson‘s Maps to the Stars were both included in the 2014 Cannes Film Festival lineup, which was announced on April 16. The on-again, off-again couple has been separated for some time now, but with Cannes now on both their schedules, could a reunion be in the cards?
Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart: Will They Reunite At Cannes?
Both stars must be thrilled that their movies are getting such prominent premieres, Kristen with her flick about an assistant who helps a struggling famous actress, and Rob, with his David Cronenberg-directed thriller.
But what may excite Rob and Kristen even more is the chances of a romantic French Riviera reunion! The last time these two were at Cannes in 2012 (despite rumors, they did not go last year), they totally stole the show, stunning and flirting on red carpets before being spotted packing on some heavy PDA at Kristen’s On the Road after-party.
That French getaway in 2012 was clearly a high point in their relationship — before Kristen’s cheating scandal, and before so many other things went wrong — so if both of them are back there together again, they may feel inspired to recreate that magic.
Robert Pattinson Over Kristen Stewart?
One thing’s for sure — their relationship could definitely use a little fire. After drifting apart since the Christmas 2013 holiday, a source told HollywoodLife.com on April 15 that Rob “is ready to move on.”
“Rob is beyond ready to cut the cord with Kristen,” the source continued. “They were definitely in love, but the relationship has run it’s course and he is ready to move on.”
But it doesn’t take much to fall back in love — especially with these two — so could a trip to Cannes do the trick? Let us know what you think, HollywoodLifers!
