Mimi and Nikko didn’t come to Vivid Entertainment to sell their sex tape, but they did sign off on it — and we now know why they chose to do so.
Mimi Faust and Nikko Smith‘s sex tape is quickly becoming a super hot number, and they’re not regretting their choice to release it. HollywoodLife.com exclusively spoke to Vivid and learned the reason why they released the tape — and why they didn’t really have another choice.
Mimi Faust: The Reason She Released The Sex Tape
On April 21, Mimi & Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta will be released online to the world — and it’s definitely going to be a money-maker for Vivid.
“We were approached by a third party to release the tape. I wasn’t familiar with Mimi and Nikko or Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta. After doing some research, I realized just how big both the show and the tape could be,” Vivid founder Steve Hirsch told HollywoodLife.com exclusive. “It was a struggle to ultimately get the deal done but we did. And this tape will be huge — massive!”
So, who was that third party? Well, they went on to tell us that it was someone who stole it from the couple, so Steve reached out to Mimi — and she decided to have him release it!
“It would be against privacy laws [to release it without consent] so Steve had to talk to Mimi and Nikko,” Vivid’s press manager said. “We let them know that this tape was stolen from them along with the camera. He asked them if they wanted to cooperate and have us distribute or take a chance at that guy? They agreed to distribute!”
It sounds like the other guy would have leaked it on his own, so at least Mimi and Nikko got some money out of it! What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Would you have let it just slip out or sign on with Vivid to release it? Let us know!
