Even though a statement from the Kansas City Sprint Center said that Miley had been hospitalized on April 15 for a severe allergic reaction, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the singer’s suffering from a much deeper issue, mostly because of some serious grief she’s been unable to shake.
Fans were crushed when Miley Cyrus was forced to cancel her April 15 concert in Kansas City. But a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that she’s been headed towards a breakdown for weeks, depressed and running herself ragged. Now find out why.
Miley Cyrus: The Real Reason She Was Hospitalized
The Kansas City Sprint Center stated that Miley was hospitalized for a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics and put on rest by doctors, but her health problems have really cropped up because she’s been unable to cope with the April 1 death of her dog, Floyd. We talked about the latest on Miley’s hospital stint on our VH1 show, The Gossip Table — you can watch it below.
“What Miley is suffering from is much more than an allergic reaction to antibiotics,” a source close to the singer told HollywoodLife.com. “She’s really suffering from the death of Floyd. Floyd was her best friend. She feels like a part of her, a big part of her, has died.”
Since losing Floyd, the usually cheery singer has seemingly lost the will to take care of herself. “She hasn’t been sleeping and it’s caught up with her. She is exhausted, beyond exhausted physically, mentally and emotionally, and her family is concerned,” the source continued. “She really hasn’t had any time off and she would have collapsed on stage had she kept going — she needs liquids, hydration, and most importantly, sleep. The sleep deprivation has caused massive havoc on her emotional well-being.”
Miley Cyrus Crushed After Floyd’s Death
The day after Floyd died on April 1, it was clear that Miley was absolutely devastated. She took to Twitter to mourn, writing:
Today is the 2nd worst day of my life 😿
— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) April 1, 2014
At the time, Miley’s message seemed somewhat melodramatic, but now it’s clear that Miley wasn’t exaggerating. The singer was so broken down by her dog’s passing that the grief has actually landed her in the hospital.
We hope Miley’s starting to feel better, and hopefully this hospital scare will push her to start taking care of herself again. It’s what Floyd would have wanted.
