Apparently there are one too many Nikko Smith’s in the world to keep straight! One of them was a finalist on season four of ‘American Idol’ — and he wants the world to know he’s not the Nikko Smith that stars in the new sex tape with Mimi Faust!
When hearing that Nikko Smith is the co-star in Mimi Faust‘s new sex tape, many assume that it’s the Nikko Smith that competed in season four of American Idol. However, the singer wants his fans to know it’s not him — but that he’s not that mad about the mix up!
Nikko Smith & Mimi Faust’s Sex Tape — That’s Not The ‘American Idol’ Star
American Idol‘s Nikki, 31, has been receiving a ton of calls from friends and family who heard about Mimi’s sex tape, starring a man of the same name, he told TMZ.
Vivid announced the sex tape news on April 14, sending out a press release about Mimi & Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta featuring VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Mimi Faust.
However, the Idol singer who placed in ninth place during season four, has been hearing from fans non-stop via twitter about the sex tape who think that he’s the Nikko Smith.
Idol Nikko, whose real name is Osborne Earl Smith, told TMZ he’s never dated (or even met) Mimi, but isn’t disappointed with the comparison because VH1 Nikko is . . . well endowed. At least there’s a silver lining!
“There could be worse things linked to my name. At least the guy didn’t murder someone,” he told TMZ. Well, that’s true!
Mimi & Nikko’s Sex Tape: Why It Worked For Vivid
The sex tape definitely came to shock to many when it was released by Vivid, but the company knew they wanted it right away.
“From the minute we heard about this tape, we wanted it,” Vivid Entertainment founder Steve Hirsch said in a press release. “The authenticity of Mimi and Nikko’s relationship is obvious. There’s no mistaking their passion; it’s real.”
It’s real because they’re really dating. Last summer, Mimi did an interview with MStarz, where she cleared the air that her boyfriend wasn’t using her for fame, even though that’s what everyone thought.
“I don’t think Nikko was using me,” she told the site. “If you ask me everyone’s an opportunist. Everyone in this world is an opportunist and if you’re not, then something may be wrong. I don’t think he was using me. He was trying to get what he was trying do at the forefront, and I don’t blame him. I would of done the same thing if I was him.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did you watch the sex tape? Let us know.
