Selena may be an inspiration and a role model for girls all over the world, but who inspires her? Malala does.

In this new PSA, Selena joins Malala, a girls’ education advocate from Pakistan, along with a handful of celebrities, including: Orlando Bloom, Shay Mitchell, Seth Rogen, and more.

Their goal? To spread awareness about the fight for education, which fearless leader Malala started.

Selena and the others recite the inspiring words of Malala throughout the dramatic video, which explain why she continues to fight for girls’ education rights.

“I come from Swat Valley, Pakistan, a region where rifles are fired to celebrate the birth of a son, but daughters are hidden away behind a curtain,” the video explains. “Where I grew up, girls were afraid to go to school. But I’m not afraid.”

As you know, Malala became a household name after her brave survival story made worldwide headlines. The teenager was shot in the head by a member of the Taliban when she was just 14-years-old while she was walking home from school. Despite the ruthless assassination attempt, she survived, and now she has the world standing behind her as she continues to fight for girls’ education rights.

This is a great cause and the women around the world need equality for quality of life for their children and their children’s children. It is a miracle that Malala survived the attempt on her life. I don’t get the negative comments about Selena’s support for equal education for women. She doesn’t deserve being called names.

she does it for publicity to help, like how she uses all the famous people around her. anyone else notice? she is ugly? the fact that she is American MExican features… she is still ugly to us…. there are other mexican spanish beauty much more prettier than this girl… many other American who is much more beautiful than this bbtich. sorry, but its the truth. the fact that we are not American, and we have different taste. admit it… she is not that exotic in our eyes. and if you beautiful all around the world then you are lucky, but if you only beautiful to some…. then that’s the only level you’ve got. so for us. she is ugly.

I DON’T care about bieber, but i found out he does that. he did went back to my country to secretly help… never publicized. meaning it might be real. even though he was really rude and arrogant on his concert a year ago, he did it to make it up for his fans in my country, which does not include me…. so my thoughts for him might change a little. but just a little, cause i still hate this lil boy style. and really don’t give a flying fk at what he does, or who he is.

Because of your blind hatred and prejudice, you fail to recognize that Selena’s genuine beauty emanates from within. She is truly greatful to her fans who exist “throughout the World” and to her parents for guiding her on her journey into adulthood and independence.

Her private life and youthful indulgences are normal for someone her age. The recognition she receives for her philanthropic contributions and participation in worthy causes is well deserved!

Thank you, Selena Gomez.

I affirm that it is a natural right for all human beings, male or female, to be given equal access to educational opportunities, no matter where they reside and without regard to any affiliation they may possess. Bravo, Selena for your attention to this great cause.
