Doctors were reportedly so concerned with Peaches’ health in 2011 that they begged her to change her diet. But was the damage already done?
Sadly, even after an autopsy, Peaches Geldof‘s cause of death has not been determined. And while a previous report speculated that the 25-year-old journalist/model may have been at risk because of her more recent juicing diet, a 2011 interview with Peaches has been unearthed in which she admitted that she had a bad heart and serious cholesterol problems.
Peaches Geldof: Did She Have Heart Problems?
“Do I really look that thin?” Peaches said. “Let’s be honest. How did I do it? I just stopped eating McDonald’s and f**king s**t every day.” She continued, noting how doctors warned her that she needed to change. “I had cholesterol and the doctors said stop eating s**t. So I did. If you stop eating pizza and chips then you don’t look like you used to. I used to eat s**t every single day. I used to wake up with my boyfriend and eat crap. I had the heart of a 90-year-old gangster.”
Peaches was joking and being self-deprecating at the time, but in the context of her sudden death on April 7, the comments take on a morose darkness. Peaches’ serious cholesterol and heart issues could explain why she died so tragically at such a young age.
Peaches Geldof’s Autopsy Inconclusive
However, an official cause of death has not been determined, even though a post-mortem examination was conducted on April 9. The results of the autopsy were inconclusive, and now an inquest will be carried out to uncover answers in Peaches’ passing.
A toxicology report is also being carried out, though it will take weeks before the results come through. On the day she died, police summed up Peaches’ death as “non-suspicious but unexplained and sudden.” They reportedly also did not find a suicide note, signs of injury, or evidence of drugs.
So the mystery grows surrounding Peaches’ death. We just hope that eventually an explanation will be available so that her family is able to find some peace.
