From a beautiful, blue $3,875 coat to a custom-made dress that paid homage to New Zealand, Kate looked absolutely flawless as she stepped out on the Royal Tour — but which look did you prefer on the divine Duchess?
Kate Middleton may have a very busy schedule to stick to while on a three-week Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have time penciled in for an outfit change or two! The 32-year-old royal showed off not one but two stunning looks, trading a conservative and chic coat for an exquisite bespoke dress all in the same day on April 9 in New Zealand. Which look did you love on Kate?
Kate Middleton’s Blue Coat — New Zealand Outfit:
Kate began her day with a visit to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre in Blenheim, New Zealand, where the Royal couple was accompanied by Sir Peter Jackson. Kate looked perfectly polished in a beautiful, powder blue military-inspired Alexander McQueen coat, which featured a belt that cinched in her tiny waist. A modified version of her outerwear is currently on the designer’s website for a whopping $3,875. While her hair is often down, her locks were swept up on this occasion, into a neat and chic ponytail by her personal hairdresser, Amanda Cook Tucker. Diamond and sapphire earrings, (which match her engagement ring!), added a nice touch to the look, as she paired her daytime outfit with navy pumps and a matching navy blue clutch.
Kate Middleton Black Dress, Silver Fern For New Zealand:
While Kate’s first look of the day was beautiful, it was her evening outfit that really took our breath away. The Duchess and her hubby, Prince William, attended a state reception held at Government House on April 9 in Wellington, New Zealand, where she watched as she unveiled a portrait of the Queen. On this occasion, Kate selected a custom-made ensemble from another one of her favorite British designers: Jenny Packham!
Not only was the bespoke long-sleeved black crepe dress both conservative and chic, but her custom LBD was accented with an exquisite silver fern, the national emblem for New Zealand. The embellished embroidered crystal detailing added a lovely touch to the fitted ensemble and was a nice respectful nod — it was so unique and it really added such a special element to the entire look. The form-fitting silhouette fit Kate like a glove, as the dress extended into a swing skirt and stopped right below the knees. Her signature blowout, black pumps, and a black clutch completed her flawless ensemble.
Kate Middleton’s New Zealand Outfits — 2 Looks In 1 Day:
I love the way Kate represented New Zealand in such a unique way. From the sparkling detailing on the shoulder to the fit of the frock, it’s clear that Kate and Jenny are a winning combination — and we hope we see more stunning looks from the designer while the Duchess continues her obligations on the Royal Tour!
