‘Duck Dynasty’: Phil Robertson Accused Kay Of Cheating On Him

The Robertson wives’ new novel is certainly not a children’s book. Alan‘s wife, Lisa Robertson, stunned Duck Dynasty fans, admitting that she was molested during her childhood, which caused her to have an affair, but she’s not the only “wife behind the beard” to have suffered from cheating allegations and relationship woes.

Kay Robertson, wife to Phil, writes about the dark time in her life when she went as far as trying to kill herself, after her husband accused her of cheating.

“I hit rock bottom,” Kay writes in The Women of Duck Commander, in an excerpt published by RadarOnline. “I have never felt as totally hopeless, as I did that night. I simply could not see any way out of a terrible situation for the boys and me.

In the book, Kay goes on to explain that after Phil was heavily drinking, he pointed fingers at her for cheating, and she spun down the path of destruction.

I finally accepted the fact that I could not fix our lives and had no one to help. I just didn’t want to live any more…if I could just go to sleep and not wake up…I told myself I didn’t care if I slept forever, but deep down I don’t think I really wanted to die.”

Kay details the night, writing that she “realized I just wanted to go to sleep for a long time. I did not consciously want to kill myself, I just wanted to take enough Tylenol…to have a nice, long rest.” She goes on to pen about her troubles with Phil, who she married when she was just 15 years old. “I wanted to scare the daylights out of Phil. I wanted to punish him for everything that he had put me through.”

Kay’s oldest son Alan helped her out of her dark place that night, telling her that God will take care of their family. “In an instant it was like a lightbulb came on for me. ‘What am I doing?’ I asked myself. ‘I have three little boys. I can’t leave them with a drunk.’”

Wow. this story is shocking, but we are so glad that Kay’s sons helped her stay afloat and that she and Phil were able to work things out, resulting in a long marriage.
