Prince George is ready for his first royal engagement! The 8-month-old prince will complete his first job when he participates in a parent and baby playgroup at the Government House, where the Wellington, New Zealand governor resides. How cute!
Prince George’s First Engagement As A Royal
Prince George is not just tagging along with his parents, Kate, 32, and Prince William, 31, in New Zealand.
The royal baby is set to participate in his first-ever royal engagement, which will be a “playgroup” at the Government House in Wellington, New Zealand on Wednesday, April 9.
The Government House is where New Zealand dignitaries Lieutenant General The Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae and his wife Lady Janine Mateparae reside.
Prince George’s first engagement will be with ten New Zealand families that have babies his age. One of those family includes a single mother, and another consists of a gay couple. What is unique about this playgroup, is that all of the families are first-time parents like Will and Kate, so they will have lots to talk about!
How exciting for Prince George!
Parents In New Zealand Are Excited To Meet Royals
Some of the families that have been invited to the exclusive playgroup are already speaking out about their excitement for the event.
On mom, Kate Bainbridge, even shared that other parents have shared their jealousy over her invite!
“I’ve had a few jealous looks from other parents when they found out we were meeting the Duke and Duchess,” Kate told the Daily Mail.
Kate also feels that even though her family is not of royal descent, that she will still have lots to talk about with Will and Kate because they are also new parents.
“Even though we come from a very different background we have got a lot in common with the Duke and Duchess because we’ve been through the sleepless nights and we can talk to them about our experiences,” Kate explained.
What an awesome experience that will be for the royal family and the select group of new parents!
