The Geldof family has been absolutely crushed by the death of Peaches. A day after she died, her older sister Fifi took to Instagram to remember her “beautiful baby sister” with a throwback picture and a heart-wrenching message on April 8.
Geldof family members are one by one paying tribute to their beloved Peaches Geldof, 25, after she suddenly and tragically died on April 7. Her father Bob Geldof released one of the most heart-wrenching statements ever on April 7, and a day later, Peaches’ older sister Fifi poured her heart out on Instagram.
Fifi Geldof Remembers Peaches With Instagram Tribute
Fifi, who is six years older than Peaches, posted a throwback picture of herself and Peaches from when they were young, showing a simpler, much happier time. She then opened up about the sisterly bond she had with Peaches, and how heartbroken she is to lose her best friend.
“My beautiful baby sister…” Fifi wrote on Instagram. “Gone but never forgotten. I love you, Peaches x.” In so few words, you can really feel Fifi’s pain, even though it’s still hard to imagine what it’s like to suddenly lose a younger sister.
Fifi and Peaches also have a half-sister named Tiger Lily, and a younger sister, Pixie, 23. On the same day Fifi posted her emotional tribute, Pixie was spotted in all black, heading into her father’s house in Battersea, a borough of London.
Peaches Geldof Dies: Rest Of Family Mourns
The family is clearly banding together as they grieve Peaches’ passing. “We are beyond pain,” Bob said in a statement after Peaches was found dead in her home in Wrotham. He continued to pay tribute:
She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.
Peaches’ husband, Thomas Cohen, also released a statement, reinforcing how crushed he is, but also insisting that he and their two children — Astala, 20 months, and Phaedra, 10 months — would make sure Peaches lived on in their memories: “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever. Thomas Astala and Phaedra Geldof-Cohen.”
All of this outpouring of love and mourning is so gut-wrenching to see, but it’s clear that Peaches was loved and that she’ll be dearly missed. Our thoughts continue to be with her loved ones in this tragic time.
