Peaches Geldof Found Dead — Did She Die From A Drug Overdose?

Mon, April 7, 2014 2:46pm EDT by 62 Comments

So sad. Peaches Geldof was found dead at the age of 25. Did the English model and TV presenter die from a drug overdose?

Peaches Geldof, 25, was pronounced dead on Monday, April 7, near Wrotham, Kent. The mother of two infants is the daughter of musician and humanitarian Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, who tragically died from a drug overdose in 2000. Were drugs the cause of Peaches’ shocking death?

Peaches Geldof — Did She Die From A Drug Overdose?

The world is utterly shocked by the sudden death of Peaches Geldof. The English model and journalist, 25, tragically passed away on Monday, April 7, and was found dead by the Kent Police.

Peaches Geldof Death: Cops Find ‘No Hard Drugs, No Suicide Note’ At Scene

The cause of death has yet to be released, but the Kent Police are treating Peaches’ death as sudden and unexplained.

“Police were called at 1:35pm on 7 April 2014  to an address near Wrotham following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman,” the Kent Police told HollywoodLife.com, in an official statement. “A woman aged 25 was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service. At this stage, the death is being treated as an unexplained and sudden death. Officers are working to establish the circumstances around the death.”

Peaches Geldof: Pregnancies Could Have Caused Sudden Death

Due to Peaches’ young age and sudden death, fans are speculating if the 25-year-old died from a drug overdose. Peaches is sadly no stranger to drugs, as she has publicly spoken about her own drug use and her family’s history of drug abuse in the past.

Peaches Geldof’s Bad Childhood: Why She Embraced Attachment Parenting

Peaches wrote in Elle UK (she penned a column for the magazine) that she did indeed experiment with drugs, but was mindful of her mother’s substance abuse, and consequent death. “I did experiment with drugs,” Peaches said in the glossy magazine. “I did get drunk and go to parties, but I was never that wild. I could have been, I could have let myself spiral but all the time I remembered what happened to my mum.”

In 2011, the Daily Mail reported that Peaches had befriended the late Freddy McConnel, who died from a heroin overdose at age 18, and even gave him money to buy drugs.

“Freddy formed a friendship with Peaches Geldof, the 22-year-old, wild-child daughter of Sir Bob Geldof,” according to the Daily Mail. “Extraordinarily, the Mail can reveal that Peaches this week telephoned Freddy’s father to confess that — although she had nothing whatsoever to do with his death — she had given money to Freddy to buy drugs in the months before he died.”

In 2010, photos were leaked that showed a nearly-nude Peaches, after an alleged heroin-fueled sex party.

Fans Speculate Peaches Geldof’s Death

Fans are grieving and expressing their strong opinions on Twitter, in speculation of the young mother’s cause of death. Many believe that Peaches was battling with drugs.

Peaches father, Bob Geldof, and her husband, Thomas Cohen, have both released statements on their horrible loss. Our thoughts are with Peaches’ family and loved ones.

HollywoodLifers, how did you react to Peaches’ death — do you think she was battling with drugs? Leave your condolences down below in the comments. Rest in peace, Peaches.

To be honest a young 25 yr old women does not die of nothing does she? She was painfully thin and if there were drugs involved her body wouldnt have been able to take such abuse.Very sad,i feel sorry for the two children, left without a mother just as she was. These so called celebs, they have everything and still want more, its pretty pathethic actually. These girls have no mother, and a dad who lets them do as they please, what do people expect. Very selfish of her if she did overdose though,i just dont understand that,we are not here for long so why end it early. And i bet they have covered the results of the post mortem up so as not to draw attention to anything that they have found,as i said you dont die for no reason at 25 if you are fit and well!

Never seen such a gutter article in my life.

Given exclusive statements by Kent Police??? Really???

No you weren’t.

Your banner headline is, in itself, very disrespectful.

Glorification may be your idea of getting a few new readers and filling a few column inches, but very poor journalism, without any reporting.

Loads of reasons why a 25 y/o mum would die, perhaps you should educate yourself before accusing and disrespecting others.

t’s called “Lytes Out” ….I’ve actually seen it with my own 2 eyes, scary stuff.. treatable with immediate action, but apparently that was not the case. When your electrolytes go out of balance one can be saved with a quick response. When it happens the person just totally collapses as if they had just died in one second……but they haven’t yet…but will in a bit of time.

Definatly looks like an eating disorder

Recent past few yers photo she is like a complete different person
Aged, gaunt, dare say unattractive not that matters but so ill looking that how on earth were these signs not picked up on. Not everyone is naturally thin as she never was so to be like a ‘fashionble’ stick people who aren’t made that way it takes what looks for her and many others has tken lives of to literally starve yourself to death or diminish yourself to nothing where it then become unbearble not living just pain everyday consumes you.

This is a very sad fate but even sadder seemed to be a while coming where nothing was done.
Silly really someone who literally had everything to live for

So at what point in this vapid and rather judgmental article are you going to write – “Well, we simply don’t know because the police have found no evidence of drug abuse at her house and the autopsy has not been performed yet” ? Jeez she’s not even cold yet

Someone said it doesn’t matter if drugs were involved – to lose your life so young is terrible?
Tune into reality FM. Not only did she have everything that 99% of the worlds population dream of but will never attain, she threw it all away for those drugs, like being Peaches Geldof wasn’t enough for her. Having two kids and a big house and enough money to never have to work or worry just didn’t cut it. No she wanted to get HIGH.
Fact is through her selfish ways she left behind two kids without a mother and a family without a daughter. Oh wait…. I bet she had personal problems. No one understood her.
Drugs are a social virus, but to have everything and still do it? DISGUSTING.

The police found no evidence of hard drugs at the property. It’s sick people like you that start rumours like this, why don’t you go and write for The Sun newspaper already? You would fit right in with the rubbish you write. A young mum died, there was no evidence of drugs, get your facts right. RIP Peaches

these poor little rich people we called Celebrities are so pitiful if we can really look from another perspectives, they are Of this world n In this world,(biblically speaking),imagine where poor little Peaches soul is at this moment,to have the whole world n yet forfeits the soul,is it all worth it?if they are living life so happily, why do one think they have to do drugs?these celebs have a real pte life, which is usually tattered, lonely, etc and another life lived according to wat the world expects, parties, guccis n heroin, the wilder the act in front of these paparazis, the better the front page of the magazine sells, n thus everything connects.but, sadly,we are living in a fallen world where big, better n faster is the catchphrase from Mcdonalds to computer n Money n Fame is the god of this world, adored senselessly by we,the fallen, who, hopes to built our own god by these.now i know why Holy bible is True n that the works of the devil is to come to do 3things only: steal , kill n destroy….another one bites the dust…

I have been looking at old pics, closeups, transformations and it all points to Peaches having an eating disorder. I found marks on the base of her fingers, also called Russell’s Sign in the cloesups of her engagement ring. I see her hair thinning in the last photo of her and family, and the gaunt expression of what was once a full youthful face. I found a pic of her stuffing pastries into her mouth while wearing baggy sweats, her face pale, grey, eyes red and exhausted. It makes me so sad to see this and know that still, anorexia and bulimia are the silent killers, the ghosts in the closet that no one really wants to face. I’m sorry we failed you Peaches, there had to have been a way to confront and save you.

The world may never know, i am sure if an autopsy was done they’ll never release that kind of information to protect her figure. If it were because of drugs or not I still don’t think that means you should discriminate or hate on her, she’s dead, i respect the dead. Prayers for the young ones and her family.

Exactly. Not only do the Media paint up a picture of these so called “role models”, they also refuse to divulge the reasons for their demise. What kind of message is that sending to our children? The media, so fast to demonize and destroy whoever the owners maybe chose, but protect others with the same breath? I am sorry Peaches is dead, it’s always sad when a person dies so young. But there are thousands of others dying EVERY MINUTE through starvation and murder, not through taking drugs as a sideline to being a millionaire mother of two in a mansion in the UK. Get real. Personally I do everything I can to keep my own children away from the filth our society puts up as heroes and hope that they will decide for themselves who to look up to. Maybe even someone with intelligence. Who knows?

tell me how else a 25 year old could be found dead in their home

ARVD is a possibility. arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy. I lost 2 friends that way, brothers who died younger than 25 to what is an almost impossible heart condition to detect even among families who are known to carry the genetic disorder.

It’s the number 1 heart related killer among the under 30’s.

If there is going to be speculation then let’s be a bit more open and imaginative.

ARVD is easily detected on an echo-cardiogram. I’am married to a cardiologist, that being said one in 5,000 people have it and its relatively common. Young people die in hundreds of ways unrelated to drugs.

A pulmonary embolism can cause sudden death. Often they are discovered, and treated with anti-coagulant medications. But in some cases they can cause the demise of someone in a very short time period.

Perhaps I should have said “Predict” instead of detect. An ECG won’t show up the condition until it has developed and all too often that’s too late. What 19 year old goes to get their heart checked out?

It’s more that people who don’t have to commit crime to buys drugs are unlikely to come into contact with law enforcement, especially if they aren’t buying drugs from their car window.
