The Duchess must have made her hubby Prince William very happy choosing a stunning red coat by one of his moms favorite designers- Catherine Walker – to kicked off the royal tour. Then proving that she’s a master politician, she also borrowed the Queen’s New Zealand brooch for her arrival!
While most of us look frumped-out after a long flight, that clearly isn’t the case for the royals! Kate Middleton , 32, proved that there’s something in that blue blood- even if you just marry into it – that enables you to be perfectly put together when you touch down, wherever.
In Kate’s case, she not only was gorgeous in a red couble-breated coat and matching pillbox hat by Gina Foster, she also channeled Princess Diana, who wore a similar red coat on her New Zealand royal tour in 1984.
She also managed to effortlessly carry the impeccably dressed Prince George, 8 months, in her arms as she touched down at Wellington Airport in New Zealand on April 6, with her hubby heir to the throne.
Kate Middleton’s Royal Tour Arrival Outfit — Regal In Red:
Kate ‘s coat was designed by British designer Catherine Walker who happened to be a favorite of Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana and her borrowed diamond and platinum silver fern brooch, represented the national symbol of New Zealand, decorated her lapel and won high fives from the New Zealand locals.
The brooch was on loan from the Queen’s jewelry collection and was originally given to the monarch on Christmas Day in 1953 during her six-month world tour. Black pumps and a black clutch completed Kate’s not thrown-together-in-the-least look.
While Kate was her usual gorgeous self, her son Prince George stole the show in a decidedly British baby look -a cream cardigan, white balloon shorts and a white , blue trimmed top.
The royal arrival marks the beginning of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand and also is a major milestone for little George – it’s his first official trip overseas! wow- these royals start young. As they continue making appearances we can’t wait to see what Kate, (and George!), will wear next!
