If you’re a fan of ‘The Walking Dead’ and can’t possibly imagine a zombie-less life until the Season 5 premiere in Oct. 2014, creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman’s incredibly popular and immersive ‘The Walking Dead Escape’ is about to embark on a national U.S. tour!
The March 30 Season 4 finale of The Walking Dead seems like it aired a lifetime ago and we’re already jonesing for our next fix. Luckily, Robert Kirkman, creator and executive producer of The Walking Dead, has got our back. His company, Skybound Entertainment, has expanded the incredibly successful The Walking Dead Escape to include nine dates across the United States! Fans can participate as either “Walkers” or “Survivors” as they make their way through an apocalyptic obstacle course. Read on for more and to find out if The Walking Dead Escape will be hitting up your city!
‘The Walking Dead Escape': Robert Kirkman’s Apocalyptic Obstacle Course Going On Tour
Launched in 2012, The Walking Dead Escape is a totally immersive experience which has fans choosing to be either Walkers or Survivors. We suppose the thrill-seekers would choose to be Survivors, because the Walkers are the real, terrifying deal. Just like in the video you’ll find below, they are transformed by professional makeup artists into the kind of gruesome, infection-ridden walking corpses that we see on TV. Not only that, but they also receive “zombie training” so that they can learn to walk and sound just like our nightmares. We’re the eat-or-be-eaten kind, ourselves — mostly ’cause we’re chickens.
After making it through the course, your infection level will be assessed and you’ll be able to take part in the event’s Fan Experience. And hey, don’t worry — it’s not a race, if that’s a dealbreaker for you! It can be as leisurely a stroll through a zombie-ridden post-apocalyptic world as you’d like.
“I’m thrilled to offer fans new and old an even bigger, more interactive experience this time around. It’s great to see fans of the comic book and television series live in the world I created so many years ago,” Robert Kirkman says about the bigger and better nine dates that are a part of the national tour.
